Advantages: Brilliant battery life, looksa and size Disadvantages: Probarably don't need a spare
Having previously owned a digital camera taking normal AA batteries a key priority in buying a new camera was to have a rechargable battery. This battery came with the Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 and i have been using it for about 2 months and have not found a fault with it. It came free with the Camera (Amazom £139) but it can be bought separately for around £20.
The battery charges up through a charger which plugs to a normal plug socket and takes around 4hrs depending on how charged the battery is. I got this charger with the camera and you should get it with any sony camera you get. The only reason therefore to buy this battery is as a replacement but i have not found a need for one. In the past two years I have bought 4 of these batteries.
I love these batteries because Sony have made most of their camcorders compatible with this battery. This meant that when I got my new camcorder for Christmas this year I was then able to transfer my old battery for a back-up.
I have bought so many of these batteries because I do a lot of sightseeing. I have also choose this battery over any other because it holds an extremely good charge. I had came across times when I was standing in front of a beautiful landmark and I had no battery charge.
After that experience any holidays, or events I got to I always bring at least one spare, charged battery as well as my own.
I have never had any problems with these batteries and I only have good things to say about them.

having recently bought this battery for my camera, i can safely say, it is the best camera bettery i have had so far. I use my camera vertually all day every day so therefore, i obviously go through many, many betteries. This has proved a problem to me but now that i have found the canon NB lithiumIon battery, i see my problems at an end. it has allowed me to create, manage and share my images and information more efficently 'for sure'. i cannot specifically think why this bettery would be any better than the others but something about it just seems so good. i would reccomend not just this battery, but cannon also, fo those who are looking for long lasting, lithiumion batteries for their canon or other brand, product. ...
