Is Sony obsessed with CD? Well, yes. After all, Sony co-invented CD. And, come to think of it, Sony was the first to put CD in the car. It's no big shock that Sony engineers continue to push the envelope of CD technology.
Advantages: Great Design, Easy to use, good sound quality Disadvantages: usb socket flap looks a bit flimbsy
...Good All-round head unit, Quick Install and Good Sound Quality
My Lust for all things Sony continued when I had to replace my old SonyCDX-MP40 head unit. The old unit was exceptional and had lasted me 4-5 years so my expectations were high and so far I haven't beed dissappointed but I guess only another 5 years will show whether sonys have improved.
But what I can say is as follows:
Sound Quality - very good, stereo output is very crisp and the choice of equaliser options is better. Bass sounds better too and doesn't distort even at louder volumes. I found the chemical brothers best hits were a good test for this.

Advantages: Stylish, Good Value, Good Sound Quality, Comes with Remote Control Disadvantages: None that i have found
...A very stylish in car CD/Radio, this has a AUX in socket on the front to attach items such as Ipods and MP3 players to the unit to play in car using a standard aux to aux lead.
This is very easy to install and comes with the standard ISO connection so simply plugs into your cars existing audio connection.
This comes with very clear easy to understand instructions and also shows you how to install items such as CD Changers and Amplifiers should you wish too.
As soon as i plugged the unit in and turned it on, it was very easy to operate and set-up, the sound quality is top notch and i can not find any faults.
This unit also comes with a remote control and adds to ease of use....

They also have a reputation, of allowing older models to be sold off with ‘deep discounting’.
The SonyCDX-F500C is no exception, whether or not this is a ‘current’ model. Or one shortly to go out of production, I couldn’t say, but being able to buy one at half normal retail price would lead me to think this was the case.
I had been looking to replace my Original Equipment cassette radio in my old Proton* car for around six months or so.
I had noticed this particular model (or one very similar to it) and had decided that the guide price of £140 was a little beyond my means, it was therefore a welcome surprise to see Argos* were offering this model at £69...
