I received one of these as a Christmas present in 2005 although I organised buying it so that my mum would get the cheapest deal. I paid about £115 quid for it so being able to buy it now for £89 is a real bonus.
I liked the large screen with scolling playlist information. Particularly impressive when you have a CD full of MP3s in the head unit and it scrolls through the title of the song.
I also liked the auto dim when you turn the headlights on (works in my V-Reg Astra anyway) so that the backlighting doesnt dazzle you, however, in the day the red/white lighting of the unit is also very funky and cool.
The fact that it could integrate with the controls on my steering wheel (after purchasing an adaptor) was also a real plus point for mee as it makes changing tracks/volume whilst on the move a lot easier than having to reach across and do it.
One of the only bad points I found is that the line-in, which is emphasised so heavily in the spec list doesnt seem to accept stereo plugs correctly, you need to wiggle them around to get full stereo sound, otherwise you are just left with sound from one side of the car. Also, you need to remove the line in plug when switching back to CD/Radio or whatever device you've got playing through the head unit can still be heard faintly.
Although the line-in connection was one of the reasons why I bought the unit, I actually found that it was of little or no use to me with my 512mb mp3 player because I could fit more songs on a CD so all I do is burn a CD full of whatever MP3s I want to listen to at that time and stick it in the player, saves having to mess around with MP3 player controls and wires and means I can change tracks and volume from the steering wheel.
Sound quality is good so all in all it's a good budget head unit but doesnt stand up anywhere near to the latest line of players (bluetooth, memory card slots, OEL colour screens etc.)
Advantages: Larger Display Screen Disadvantages: ON Button not obvious
I am very happy with this Car Stereo. It looks good, in the dark it lights up in red which looks extremely cool.
It is very easy to use...although it does take some getting used to. The main complain I have in this respect is that the 'on' button is not where I'd have expected it to be. I would have like the large volume dial to be the on switch when you press it in as in many other car stereos...however it is in the top right corner.
The other ... ...of buttons that I do not know what they do or what their abbreviations stand for. I should probably look it up in the manual, but for the moment that does not seem necessary as I dont seem to have an obvious need for them! It has 6 presets button for you to store your favourite radio stations which is enough for me, I believe you can store more than this though.
The thing I find most handy is the AUX socket. I have used this to hook up my mobile ...

Advantages: Low Cost Sub Out/Pre Out CD changer controls Disadvantages: audio quality not always great struggled to play mp3
...2006 to replace my knackered Sony cassette Player at the time this was the only Sony car radio i could find that had the Sony CD changer Controls and an input for the Sony Steering wheel remote i already had fitted to my car the other big bonus was the Line out/ Sub out as i had just fitted two 12" subs in the boot the Screen colours red and white blended in very well to the interior lighting of my car
i struggled to get a good balance of sound ... ...an mp3 player nice budget unit and compatible with older Sony Technology like the wired remote and CD changer but fiddley to use fussy about the media you use and hard to get a good qualiy of sound would only recomend if upgrading from an older Sony Stereo ...
