I bought the Sony E200E about 6 months ago, i am very pleased with it. I had been looking for a new monitor for a while and when i saw this one i fell for it. The tube is flat and when i say flat its flat, max resolution is 1600x1200 but i wouldnt recommend it i found 1024x768 great at 100hz refresh rate. The control Functions are done by a single toggle button which i found very easy to use. There are all the usual features to adjust like picture width and height and loads more extras that you won't believe. The monitor came with a driver diskette which went in easy. I would have liked it if the input cable would have been detachable but you cant have it all.
The picture is excellent and the colour excellent to.
The only gripe i had was with the reset button on the front of the monitor underneath, on 2 occasions i have moved my keyboard and hit it sending the monitor back to factory settings.
Advantages: CRISP FLAT PERFECT IMAGES Disadvantages: ANNOYING LINES AND FLATNESS SHOWS DUST EASILY SO IT NEEDS CONSTANT WIPEING
...September 2000 I purchased a Sony Multiscan E200E and I have recieved nothing but sheer pleasure from it since. The screen is so flat that you can see the screen from any veiwpoint in a room. The image is crystal clear too, I am a graphic designer and I have tried and tested many monitors and not a single one compares with this. The options for configuring the screensize etc is the best format I have come across and it is pleasurable to use. apart ... ...which usually entail looking at very small images but the Multiscan E200E gives each image a clear, crisp and defined edge.
The only problem I have ever found with it is the two lines that divide the screen. At first I thought it was a fault and it was very obvious on a blank screen but after a while you get used to it and I can no longer see them. The pros certainly outweigh the cons on this model of monitor so i would like to inform you that in ...

Advantages: great make, trinitron tube, flat screen, great quality Disadvantages: dodgy reset button on the front of the monitor
Well what can I say about this monitor? I have stumbled on a real beauty here. I bought this monitor about 8 months ago and I am incredibly pleased with it, it is the best monitor that I have ever used. My old 14" monitor went completely wrong and after a few years trusty service it finally gave up the goat, hence my need to find a new monitor for my little machine. One of the great attributes about this monitor is that the screen is flat and that ... ...of 1600x1200 which is plenty particularly for my eyes!
You adjust the monitor settings through a single button which scrolls through the many various settings available with this monitor. As standard you can adjust height, brightness, contrast, width, and also change the angles.
The picture is excellent and so is the contrast and colour, it really is all you could ever want in a monitor and I am incredibly happy that I choose this brand and model. ...

Advantages: Flicker free flatscreen, robust build, crisp images Disadvantages: SVGA cable built in, Two thin black lines
I have owned the monitor approx 18 months and have the following opinions.
I got this monitor as a package with my Mesh PC when I purchased it and I beleve the price was approx £225 at the time.
Display quality has remained excellent throughout my ownership with no deteriation in the excellent sharpness, colour and contrast. However as other reviewers have pointed out there are 2 thin black horizontal lines which are sometimes visible when you ... ...hard). You seem to notice this a lot at first but over time you don't really notice it. Apparently the lines are actually which are part of the digital display helping to reduce flicker. This effect isn't to bad as it is only really visible in word, excell etc. where you have large white spaces (in my case).
Overall build quality is excellent with the plastic casing being made using quite thick plastic with a convieniently placed on/off switch. ...

The Sony Multiscan CPD-E100 and Multiscan CPD-E200 are ideal for the home and small office requiring exceptional image performance without sacrificing value or reliability. It's perfect for everything from spreadsheets and finely detailed graphic presentations to browsing the Internet and gaming. The virtually flat, high-resolution FD Trinitron CRT combined with a variable 0.24-0.25mm aperture grille pitch, and precise, convenient on-screen digital controls, allow the CPD-E100 and CPD-E200 to perform at a level that will set a new benchmark for your expectations of clarity and color. To provide superior contrast and grayscale performance, both displays feature a high-contrast black coating. This coating, coupled with the displays' vertically flat screens, also help cut glare and washout caused by ambient light. And that reduces eyestrain. Sony's DisplayMouse menu control makes this premier SOHO display one of the easiest to set up, adjust and - in the unlikely event that there's a problem - troubleshoot. Users can quickly take advantage of everything the CPD-E100 and CPD-E200 have to offer.
