However, the monitor displays a near perfect picture at very high resolution. I have taken it up to 1280 x 1024 and it looks a treat (except that you cant see the icons because they are so small). I use it at 1124 x 768 and find it suits my eyes, ... Read review
...As 19" monitors go, the Sony CPD-E220 has nearly everything you could want. It has quality built in as standard. There are more expensive 19" monitors out there which don't even come close to this model.
Your monitor is the part of your computer system you look at constantly so why not get a good one - this is the one yours eyes have demanded!

I have recently built my own system from scratch. After looking at many reviews in magazines and the web, the monitor I decided to go for was the CPD-E200, as it had some excellent write-ups and for the price, was said to be in a class of it's own for a 17" monitor. Unfortunately, as soon as I tried to order it, it was discontinued :-( Fortunately, it was going to be replaced by the CPD-E220 :-)
The E220 is, for all intense and purposes, the same monitor as the E200. It looks the same, it has exactly the same specs and the price is the same too. Probably just a propagander plot by Sony.

...They are the only official Sony refurbished monitor vendor in the UK, and I got mine at the bargain price of £117 delivered. Delivery is normally next day, and I even had to ask them to delay delivery so someone could be at home to receive it !
Despite being a "refurbished" model, it was in absolute MINT condition, with all labels attached, documentation, and full three year warranty included (many of the refurbs are supposed to have <14 hours of ... ...definition (the best i've seen), with a broad range of resolutions at up to 88Hz refresh, but the on-screen display was a little fiddly for me to get it set up correctly at first (there are a lot of image manipulation options, all controlled via a tiny joystick to the left of the power button)
The only complaints I could possibly level at this monitor are that it only has one VGA input, and when it switches between screen modes, there is an audible ...
