The E220 monitor is also known as the E215 - it's exactly the same monitor, but was renamed as part of a one-upmanship deal for a large high-street electrical store who wanted to advertise as the "sole supplier" of a model in the UK.
I bought this monitor as a "refurb" from digi-uk.com (hard to avoid an advert for them at this stage, as a category doesn't exist for them, and it`s relevant to the specific model)
They are the only official Sony refurbished monitor vendor in the UK, and I got mine at the bargain price of £117 delivered. Delivery is normally next day, and I even had to ask them to delay delivery so someone could be at home to receive it !
Despite being a "refurbished" model, it was in absolute MINT condition, with all labels attached, documentation, and full three year warranty included (many of the refurbs are supposed to have <14 hours of use).
The picture is almost perfectly flat, has excellent definition (the best i've seen), with a broad range of resolutions at up to 88Hz refresh, but the on-screen display was a little fiddly for me to get it set up correctly at first (there are a lot of image manipulation options, all controlled via a tiny joystick to the left of the power button)
The only complaints I could possibly level at this monitor are that it only has one VGA input, and when it switches between screen modes, there is an audible clunk (switching takes a fraction of a second). There are 2 very fine lines visible at all times on the screen (which you will often miss unless you`re looking at a light background) - these hold some sort of mesh inside the tube which helps give it the amazingly crisp image.
The picture is *so* sharp, you'll be looking at it funny for days, and you'll have great difficulty moving to a machine with a traditional curved screen again !
The dot pitch is 0.24-0.25mm and the recommended ergonomic resolution is 1024*768 @ 88Hz which looks great on my system !

Yes, its the trinitron tube with the lines, but you do get used to it - they're used to hold some sort of focus mask in place so you get a sharper image...
Sorry for the delay in replying, I only use ciao when i'm writing reviews usually :-}

is it using trinitron tube? I had an older sony monitor with trinitron tube, and it had 2 horizontal lines at 1/3 and 2/3 way down the screen. I was told it is a characteristic of trinitron. The line is obvious if it is a pure white screen being displayed, and very annoying. Is the same problem there for this monitor?
