I am very fond of Photography. I love to take photos very much and in the past only I had decided to take one GOOD digital camera and I found SONY Cyber-shot DSC-H1. One of the amazing Cameras I have come across. Having many features - It is the best Camera those how like photography and want to do Commercial business. This is the best suited camera available in the market.

Camera Introduced in February 2005.
Having Features
  • 5.1 megapixels
  • 12x optical zoom
  • 2.5" LCD
  • Optional wide and Tele Lens converters
  • 32MB internal memory, plus a Memory Stick/PRO slot
  • Super Steady Shot

There are many modes present in the camera.. around 7 modes. Camera is very easy to use; anyone can use it without any problem. Zoom In / Zoom Out button is present just next to LCD Screen which is very convenient and comfortable - that we can easily operate that button holding the camera for click.

In its name only - it is mentioned, STEADY SHOT; very steady and stable. It clicks good quality pictures even if you move your hand while clicking the snap.. The best quality / feature present in it. There are many other features like - Clicking snaps in Moon Light, SPORT, MOVING Object, Dark, Sun Light.. and one is Auto mode - the best and my favorite mode. You don't have to worry about anything once you set it to auto mode. It will automatically detect all settings and adjusts it.

Also it automatically decide whether FLASH is require or not, so It saves power also by not using flash again and again in each click. One more feature available is - it displays vibrating graph on LCD screen which tell us how stable our hand is.. so we can click accurate snap.

If Camera is ON and if you are not going to use it for some time, than it automatically turn OFF the camera, one of the best features available.
Menu button present just next to LCD screen, by using it you can CROP any particular snap, you can lock any snap which you don't want to show to anyone, many more features are present. Also you can set resolution like 3, 3:2, 5 mp.

You can set whethere you want to use FLASH or NOT, You can set timer - which is again my best feature. I know it is common in most of the camera, but still very useful feature.. I have used a lot this feature when we went to our Honeymoon :)

For micro creatures photography- there is a setting present.

Optical Zoom is 12x and Digital Zoom is 2x which is very GREAT and useful when someone wants to take photograph of long distance object. This is one of the reason I bought this CAMERA.

If some will ask me my opinion about this CAMERA - whether one should by or not then I will definitely a BEST camera. I know there are many other camera present in the same category but still this is one of the BEST camera. The only disadvantage is its size, Cannot accommodate it in our pocket - and to carry safely we always need to carry it in a good camera bag.

Definitely go for it - You will enjoy it, you will love it

DSC-H1 Cybershot Revolution
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1 by photography1

Advantages: High zoom, excellent macro facility, lightweight, quality lens.
Disadvantages: Very hard to get the memory stick out of the camera.

...The sheer quality of the SONY DSC-H1 means that there is no need for you to spend so much money on a digital SLR. It is, inevitably, a revolutionary breakthrough in camera designs and there can be no doubt in saying that it is a powerful and special camera. It has a high zoom of 12×; and a high-end lens. It even has one of the best macro (close-up) facilities that I have ever come across in all the cameras that I have had. The camera has a great ...
...this fantastic camera can go as close to a subject as 2cm, which I have found is especially good for photographing subjects such as flowers; parts/sections of flowers and their petals; it is also good for photographing insects up close. The macro facility on this camera has always brought me clear, crisp/sharp and dramatic images that are full of atmosphere and colour. Most of the images are good quality and the different modes on the camera are ... Read review

2-year old model - still going strong
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1 by razzda

Advantages: practical, instant feedback, user friendly menu, image stabilizer, Sony quality
Disadvantages: limitation of time exposure peaks, some vignetting, Sony proprietary-only accessories

...I have had this Sony Cybershot camera for more than a year now and I still find it the best choice I have made so far on digital cameras. My plan is to upgrade to Canon EOS 400D, but I have the feeling my H1 hasn't shown me everything she can yet. I must say I only had pleasant surprises to-date. First of all is very practical to use. It fits in my hand perfectly. The menu (like in most Sony consumer products) is easy to understand and highly intuitive. ...
...lens is a an original Sony lens, and not the Carl Zeiss lenses Sony have used on later models (H2 and H5 for instance). The zoom is 10x optical and works very well. The focus is fast and precise, even in low light. And last but not least, the image stabilizer that helped me save elegantly many photos I did not believe would come out well. One other thing that is helpful is the 2.5in LCD display that gives you not only instant and clear feedback about ... Read review

Sony's First Superzoom
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1 by ianux48

Advantages: Very good Image quality, Excellent Build and ergonomics, Antishake system, very light for its size
Disadvantages: Uses 2 XAA batteries and is a bit bulky

...reliable even in low light. Sony chose a 5.1 megapixel sensor and did not incorporate the usual Carl ziess lens on this model , which is a little dissapointing as there is a slight trade off with fine resolution, but this really is picky, the images generally look superb, and with a 12x zoom you will not need to crop that often. The unit is powered by 2 AA NiMi batteries which are supplied along with a small 6 hour charger. Considering that there ...
...day of moderate use is no problem, but of course a spare set is prudent. The camera also has a very useful video mode which is very good quality, however you cannot change the zoom setting during recording. I would recommend this camera to anyone that requires an easy to use superzoom that produces great images without too much fuss. ... Read review

Very good camera.
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1 by saqif10

Advantages: Not difficult to use, reliable.
Disadvantages: Can be awkward to carry.

I have owned this camera for rougly 2 years now and it has never failed me. The brand in my opninion speaks for itself. The huge screen allows one to capture exactly what is needed and by taking the photo in high resolution one can easily transfer it to a computer, either via usb or memory stick options, and then crop it to perfection. The 5.1 megapixels are to me very sufficient. The memory options can be expanded. And the ease of use is amazing ...
...professional camera only to be used by professionals. But don't be fooled or intimidated, a few presses of the buttons and you are open to using it as a very simple point and shoot. One thing rarely mentioned about this camera is that the video options, although not excellent, do still exist and provided lighting is sufficient, along with a steady hand.. professional videos are a possiblity. Very, very good camera. ... Read review

CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF OF YOU
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 by  donovan74

Advantages: TOTALLY PACKED WITH FEATURES, SUPERB PICTURE QUALITY
Disadvantages: DOESN'T MAKE BREAKFAST

...of settings for taking that extra special picture i.e modes for Portrait,Landscape,Sport, plus the ability of storing hundreds of pictures on one tiny memory stick (amazing). It was not until the following week whilst browsing reviews on the internet that I fell in love with the Sony cyber-shot range, with its slick designs and competitve prices I decided to go for the Sony Cyber-shot H series. SONY CYBER-SHOT H SERIES At present the Sony H series has 5 models out. They are DSC-H1 (earliest model) DSC-H2,DSC-H5,DSC-H7 and the latest model is the DSC-H9. As you would expect each later model has been slightly revised and a marked improvement for instance the H1 has 5.1 M pixel and the H9 has 10m pixel. Being that my buget was £200, the Sony DSC-H2 was my final choice. SONY CYBER-SHOT DSC-H2 I bought my camera on Ebay... Read review

the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 is still the best
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 by  akashgaur

Advantages: one of the best ultra zoom camera
Disadvantages: Downsides are few, they include a so-so continuous shooting mode.

...The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 was released as the flagship of the ultra-zoom line. Along with the H2, it succeeds the H1, which had a solo release. The H5 has specifications worthy of its role: 7.1 megapixels on a 1/2.5-inch Super HAD CCD, a Carl Zeiss-branded 12x optical zoom lens with image stabilization, and 32 MB of internal memory. Aiming for the enthusiast market or consumers growing out of their automatic point-and-shoot models, it provides full manual control in a chunky SLR-shaped body. The camera can also accept conversion lenses and other accessories. The H5 also retains characteristics familiar to point-and-shooters, such as a huge 3-inch LCD screen with a live preview, several Scene modes on its mode dial and ease-of-use features like a function guide and all-text menus. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 comes in black and silver... Read review

Manufacturer's product description

A five megapixel, Super HAD CCD imager, 12X optical zoom lens and a large 2.5-inch LCD are just a few of the features on this model that are sure to please even the choosiest photo buff. With a focal length range of 36 - 432 millimeters (a 35mm equivalence) the DSC-H1 camera lets you frame distant objects with ease. Making the most of this telephoto reach, Sony's Super Steady Shot optical image stabilization feature counteracts camera-shake to ensure sharp images. This feature also benefits low-light photography by allowing the use of longer shutter speeds with reduced risk of image blur from camera-shake. Sony's Real Imaging Processor circuitry is incorporated in the model for better battery efficiency, more responsiveness and high quality movie taking, while seven preset scene modes allow quick selection of the best setting for specific shooting conditions. The camera also includes a five-area, multi-point auto focus to help you concentrate on the subject without mistakenly focusing on the background, as well as aperture/shutter priority and manual exposure modes for creative control of the image. For added convenience, the model has 32 MB of internal memory (30 MB of usable memory) and a Memory Stick flash media slot. PictBridge compatibility enables prints in a flash when the camera is connected to an enabled printer.
