With it's stylish, unique and revolutionary design, there can be no doubt in saying that this camera is another of Sony's fantastic ideas that have worked.
Many people are embarrassed to take their camera out in front of many other photographers, who often have the high-enddigital SLR's and show them off by adding long telephoto lenses to them.
The sheer quality of the SONY DSC-H1 means that there is no need for you to spend so much money on a digital SLR. It is, inevitably, a revolutionary breakthrough in camera designs and there can be no doubt in saying that it is a powerful and special camera. It has a high zoom of 12×; and a high-end lens. It even has one of the best macro (close-up) facilities that I have ever come across in all the cameras that I have had. The camera has a great 6 mega pixel CCD sensor.
The macro mode on this fantastic camera can go as close to a subject as 2cm, which I have found is especially good for photographing subjects such as flowers; parts/sections of flowers and their petals; it is also good for photographing insects up close. The macro facility on this camera has always brought me clear, crisp/sharp and dramatic images that are full of atmosphere and colour.
Most of the images are good quality and the different modes on the camera are overwhelming.
Although I didn't know that it would happen, one of the images that I had photographed with this fabulous camera was such an amazing and good quality image, that I was approached by a local card maker, who paid me an astonishing £53.50 for them to use the image on one of their cards. I couldn't actually see what was so astonishing about it, but the card maker had the expert eyes that saw all the good in the image.
However, what I don't like about the camera is that the memory device (Memory Stick Duo) is extremely hard to get out of the camera. It is small and very light, but you have to push it in to let it come out of the camera and that is not easy because it is hard for the fingers to grip around it.
To conclude, this camera is stylish; has a high zoom of 12×; has a close macro facility; produces sharp images; has an astonishing 6 mega pixel CCD image sensor; and is the perfect multi-purpose camera for the beginner, amateur or professional, as it is easy to operate and very lightweight. it is also excellent value for money and well worth a buy.
