...The SonyCyber-shotDSC-H5 was released as the flagship of the ultra-zoom line. Along with the H2, it succeeds the H1, which had a solo release. The H5 has specifications worthy of its role: 7.1 megapixels on a 1/2.5-inch Super HAD CCD, a Carl Zeiss-branded 12x optical zoom lens with image stabilization, and 32 MB of internal memory. Aiming for the enthusiast market or consumers growing out of their automatic point-and-shoot models, it provides full manual control in a chunky SLR-shaped body. The camera can also accept conversion lenses and other accessories. The H5 also retains characteristics familiar to point-and-shooters, such as a huge 3-inch LCD screen with a live preview, several Scene modes on its mode dial and ease-of-use features like a function guide and all-text menus. The SonyCyber-shotDSC-H5 comes in black and silver...

Advantages: Small, Light weight, Excellent image quality, Looks good Disadvantages: limited flash range, wide zoom, bad red eye reduction
...The CyberShotDSC-T9 is the next step up from the DSC-T5 providing an extra 1 megapixel resolution The DSC-T9 is a high-quality camera ideal to record your holiday and outdoor events.
The DSC-T9 is let down when shooting at indoors, its flash range is limited, and the red eye reduction is not the best. However the Steady Shot image stabilisation is a great feature which helps to improves the overall picture quality and helps anyone with less than a rock solid hand.
It also has a specific macro mode which is great for the beginner and allows you to take some high definition close ups without much fiddling.
It has plenty of added features which suit it to both beginner and advanced photographer. Its durable and light weight even with the metal body. Its slightly larger than a credit card with a slim form factor; the DSC-T9 can easily...

On paper, this was the camera I wanted. Here were my criteria: (1) Shirt-pocket size. I was sick of subconsciously deciding NOT to take a camera along because I didn't want to lug about a bag of camera-plus-accessories-plus-adapter-plus-plus-plus. I... more
Starting with the outdoor test shots I noticed a number of common themes. To start with focusing and colours are impressive. The glare of the sun is also handled well in all three photos with plenty of detail showing on the white areas of the boats.... more
This is a very good camera for the price. A huge advantage is its performance in the dark and has an amazing flash range of 7 metres which I have compared with more expensive, more current models and none seem to come close; usually around 4 or 5; the... more
I purchased this camera because of it's small size and because I trust the Sony brand however it didn't really meet my expectations. The shutter speed seems a bit slow which is a problem when I'm taking pictures of my 2 year old. I love the size... more
