I had this camera bought for me as a birthday present, as the last one i had was a complete disaster, only 1.3 mega pixels. so i did some research and found this.
Great auto focus if you want to take a few snap shots. it has a light that removes that annoying "red eye" syndrome in pictures. also the flash is very bright, a little too bright some times. The battery life is great because it lasts ages before you need to recharge.
There are so many functions im still finding them, you can change you scene settings. these are shown as images cant remember all of what they mean, theres portirait and landscape settings, bright scenes, dark scenes. portraits at night.
theres the macro feature, which means you can get close up detail if you need to. there are different sorts of flash, long flash so this captures the image perfect and for night time pictures a slow flash.
this also has the time feature, so you can set it to take while you get in position.
you can buy tripods for this, and this camera has the feature to accept it underneath. charging dosent take long perhaps an hour. i've never actually calculated it but i know it dosnt take long.
you can view your pictures when you have taken them in 2 different ways, in a multi view shot where you can view all of your pictures, single view. on the display you can choose between the information you want there i.e. date , time, picture size, battery life, space left, how many pictures you've taken.
when you have just taken the picture you can flip to see it which out messing with the dial at the top.
you can turn off the sounds and the date if you prefer.
you can as well as taking stills can take motion pictures aswell, this takes up a lot of space on the 7mp setting but you can change that. i cant remember how many minutes of footage you can take with this.
you can also choose between the pixels, 3mp,3.2, 5, and 7
obviously the lower the pixels the more pictures you can get on your memory stick. i upgraded mine to a 256mb. because i could only fit 7 pictures on the 34mb stick they supplied with the camera. This didnt cost much.
The only downside to this camera is that it dosent come with a carry case, so you have to purchase one separtely. Great camera glad i bought one!
i tend to use the 7mp setting more because you can zoom in and still have fantastically good photo's, im not aprofessional photographer but im extremely impressed with this camera and would advise any one to buy it.
i bought this on amazon, i cant remember the exact price i think it was around £299.
