Advantages: small, light, battery life, speed, ease of use, Disadvantages: the 8-step zoom...maybe?

Firstly the Battery life - 3hr 20mins for a Completely Dead to Full charge. Then theres a battery moniter on the LCD that tells you exactly how many minutes of use are left! Apparently a full charge gives ~200mins of usage - thats 1 min for every 1 min charge. in picture review mode, it says ~350mins - pretty good!
Second - Ease of use. Theres what can only be described as a "simple mode" - depicted by a green camera on the mode dial. Basically it defaults to full quality, and makes everything fully automatic. So simply, a well trained chimp with an attitude problem could use the camera in this mode ;-) Then in "P" (for program), "M" (Manual) and "SCN" (Scene) you get given the more advanced options such as exposure correction, Colour/B&W/Sepia, Quality, Focusing, Macro, sharpness, contrast, colour saturation, flash level, Scene Selection, ISO and metering mode (spot, centre and multi segment). All are amazingly quick and easy to access, even with the limited number of buttons
Third - Zoom. The camera has an optical and digital zoom. The optical - 3x, and the Digital up to 14x depending on the photo quality selected. As the digital zoom can be configured to grade across the qualities - increasing in availibility as quality decreases, it has very little effect on the overall quality of the picture. The optical zoom is divided into 8 options - 1x, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.7, 1.9, 2.1, 2.4, and 3x - which might cause some people frustration but i hardly notice (and im a fairly keyed up photographer)
Fourth - Picture quality. Some artefacts are noticable if you zoom right in, from the jpeg compression used, but the overall quality is excellent and i recon you could easily print up to A3/A2 (maybe larger with the correct editing?)
(Im not interested in the video functions, but it can record and playback sound)
Fifth - Size/Weight - Small and light...very light
Sixth - Look/Design - I looked at both the silver and black versions before opting for the black. The silver version has a silver matt plasticy finish, which i personally found to seem a bit cheap. The symbols on the back were also quite difficult to make out without angling the camera, as they appear on both the black and silver versions, as a light grey colour. The black version - as i said - is shiny, clear, and makes the whole thing feel much more expensive!
Seventh (and last important factor) - Shutter lag/delay. The autofocus is very fast, and once focused, there is next to no shutter lag - something that i found particuarly annoying on my last digital camera.
The manual is excellent for everything. it even has a chart that says how many pictures of each quality can fit onto the different sized memory cards 32mb -> 2gb
Recommended/Value for money? I paid £299 on the highstreet (extra battery, camera case and memory case for 8 sticks included), and though its available a lot cheaper on the internet, i wouldnt hesitate to go out and spend it again - and im a poor student! Just remember, its supplied with a 32mb memory stick, which will NEVER be large enough. I recommend investing in at least one 512mb card to go alongside (~£50)
Advantages: ease of use, size and picture quality Disadvantages: you need a really steady hand
...Digital camera would be the Sony cyber shot DSC P200 and let me explain why.
Firstly the 7.2 megapixel quality was very appealing especially for a camera made by sony and at a good price tag. Having taken many videos and pictures with my camera i can say the 7.2 megapixel was a great investment as it really produces clear vibrant pictures. However the only down side is that you really have to hold the camera verryyyyyy still when taking pictures ... ...only down part is that sony along with just about every other camera dealer supplies a really poor 32mb memory card but that wasnt too much of an issue as a larger 512mb card is only £15 off the net.
The camera has a whole host of features including red eye removal and close up shot and all the usual cool picture things which for ppl like me you'l never use but nice to know you have it.
A very interesting feature is the fact you can change the ...

Advantages: Good lens, stunning pictures, brilliant battery life Disadvantages: Poor worksmanship, cheap materials
It's a sad experience when a product that you have grown to love develops a fault, but this was precisely what happened.
The camera was a dinky little unit, constructed of hard wearing metal, that simply oozed class and gave the impression it could survive an apocalypse. This was not to be, when a tiny piece of dust conquered the lens frame and made a home for itself on every one of my holiday shots. Convinced that a cheap little repair would get ... ...when the repair estimate was £45 +, a quarter of the price of the camera, which was only 11 months old. All it needed was a little spring cleaning inside the lens, but alas, only a complete mook would pay this much for the service.
A quick trip to Jessops the camera specialist's reveal that the model P200 has a 'higher than usual' failure rate, with the on site specialist claiming that the lens was 'very' susceptible to dust primarily because of ...

I am going to start of with the simple answer which is, alot. For the average camera user it has everything you desire but for those looking out for the specifics I will do my best to cover everything.

Advantages: Compact and lightweight, excellent battery life Disadvantages: fairly basic range of features
...kodak and opted for the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P200. This model comes in a black version which is priced higher than the silver version but comes with an additional battery, sony case and memory stick case. The camera has all the features of the normal P200 and the overiding factor which made me chose this model was the battery life. Having had a digital camera now for over 5 years I have found that their biggest downfall is the battery life. My KODAK ... ...shots before the battery warning light would come on. This would necessitate carrying copious amounts of spare batteries along and would often need changing at that crucial moment that you really wanted to capture. So far, using this camera I have shot well over 100 pictures with the battery still saying over an hour left to use (the battery meter actually gives you time left which is handy). The camera is fairly limited if you want to be a David ...

Advantages: Great quality lens, fantasic picture quality, screen and great battery life. Disadvantages: Occasional red-eye even when in reduction mode
...a 512MB seperate memory card- Sony only supplies a 32MB one which is grossely insufficient. A 512MB card costs about £50 but at the moment you can buy up to 2GB for around £130 if you search online. In the UK i have seen the camera itself in Dixons for around £230 or so. I bought it having decided I needed something better than point and click for my holiday. From the beginning I have found this a fantastic camera.
Having taken it back to the hotel ... ...late afternoon and found it intuitive to use.
The picture quality is as expected by a 7.2MP camera. On my PC I can zoom in and make out the smallest of features and a slideshow on screen is flawless. I took my holiday photos to my local photoshop and they extracted them from the supplied 512MB Memory Stick Pro Duo. Printed on 4"x6" paper I found them perfect- far superior to my girlfriend's prints on regular film.
Noting the Memory Stick I felt ...
