Advantages Advantages Pictures are excellent Quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Hidden Extras

Admit it, everyone loves to take pictures. Only problem is that once you take it thats it burried in the spool until you develop the picture. Now you think that you have taken the perfect picture until you get it back and see that Uncle Richard is making a pass at his brothers wife which you dont want ANYONE to see. Well this will solve all your problems in one. --Digital Cameras-- Digital cameras are quite simply a camera that stores the information viewed digitally, with some models having the ability to view the picture that was just taken. Depending on your use you can then take the ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent quality photos, flexible settings

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life, insufficient memory card, accessories needed

.I got this camera for my birthday a few years back. It's a great camera and my parents chose well, but I ended up having to buy more extras than you usually need after purchasing a digital camera. First there are the batteries. I used standard, brand-new AA batteries of a good brand. These lasted 15 minutes maximum, meaning I couldn't even use my camera as I'd hoped for the remainder of my birthday celebrations! I was advised by someone to get some rechargeable lithium/nickel batteries, which were quite expensive (about £25). Of course this also meant I had to buy a recharger (£50). Finally ... more

Advantages Advantages Good Image Quality. Loads of functions. Video out function useful.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor standard battery life. 4MB memory card not sufficient.

Other than the poor standard battery life and 4MB memory card provided i can not find fault with this camera. Both of these problems can be overcome with a little extra investment - using a lithium battery makes a massive difference and you can now buy memory cards upto about 128MB which would store about 400 pictures on highest quality. The menus can take a little time to get used to but after a little playing about you will be able to reap all the benefits that the camera provides. Because the camera offers so many functions it is great for intermediate / advanced users as well as beginners ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple to use, bags of options

Disadvantages Disadvantages Accessories pricey and hard to get

Open the box to this camera and find software, connection cables, instructions and batteries. However...10 minutes into using it, you will discover you dont have all you need. The batteries last a pitifully short time (less than 10 shots in my case) and the card will hold only 2 or 3 shots in high res mode. The camera is great. Nice screen, good menu system and great shots, the red eye reduction works really well and the flash mode and focus tools are great. It feels and looks like a quality camera. Now the hidden costs: to make this camera useable, you will need a lithium battery (about £45) ... more

    Advantages Advantages Long battery life

    Disadvantages Disadvantages low resolution

The Sony DSC-P50 is the second digital camera that I have purchased. The first was a cheap minolta camera for £100 with a highest resolution of 640x480. The DSC-P50 comes with an optional Litium battery which reduces the cost of batteries and also lasts about 100 hours of a 30 minute charge. The highest resolution of the P50 is 1600x1200, the lowest being 800x600. The camera takes sony memory sticks from 4mb which is included up to 128mb. At lowest resolution the camera can take about 200 photo's with a 128mb memory stick. Another feature of the camera is a movie capture mode with a resolution ... more
