I have owned a DSC-73 for about 8 months, having seen it advertised as a bundle with batteries for a very good price on a popular internet site.
I have found that the camera is very good at taking still photo's and using PC manipulation software ie. cropping or zooming will not generally ruin the quality.
I particularly wanted a reliable camera and having read on the net that some other makes (not Sony) have mechanical shutter failure problems wanted to make sure I would not be let down. The fact is I have not had any cause for concern, enjoying a trouble free time.
The DSC-73 does have some down sides to its use. Shutter lag, which is non existent in 35m cameras gets in the way a little, which is ok when you are taking still shots. Action shots are so much harder to get right, relying heavily on the use of the lcd screen to preview snaps.
The video function is best described as a fun facilty rather than a serious tool. Playback quality is at best descibed as adequate.
My other small gripe is the need when taking out my memory card, to also juggle with batteries at the same time. They are both accessed through the same compartment cover.
Over all I would give this camera a high rating for quality of still pictures, ease of use, reliability and knock a couple of points off for small irritations only.

Advantages: Lots of features, good quality pictures, video, it's Sony. Disadvantages: You will have to buy a larger Memory Stick than the one it comes with.
