I have owned this camera for just over a year now and I have found it to be very useful (especially once I had upgraded my memory stick to 512MB). I have taken over 1000 photos so far of everything from family get-togethers to holiday scenes. The pictures are great quality, particularly when set to 4 mega-pixels, however the lower settings are perfectly acceptable for everyday use. It also has the option to record video. Although not great quality I enjoy making videos and fell that it is a great feature to have as there are some moments in life that cannot be captured in just one photo. With a 512MB memory card on the standard quality setting you can record up to 11 minutes, and on the lowest quality setting you can record around 3 hours worth! My only problem is that the batteries run down quite quickly (although I think that this is due to the fact that I take so many videos) and I would recommend that you invest in a spare pair to make sure your camera is always ready to go. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a cheap, easy to use but excellent quality camera.
In response to a couple of questions the file size of the videos is approx. 20MB per minute for the standard image size (640). Its is incredibly easy to transfer photos and videos to your computer, and if you have USB 2.0 is very quick as well, I cannot remember what software actually came with the camera, however, because I never found the need to use it. The best way I've found to move the pictures is to go through 'My Computer' and select the camera from there, then you can use the 'File and Folder Tasks' bar to move the photos/vids to any folder you wish. The zoom on the camera is 3x optical, which I use more than I expected, and there is no loss of clarity. There are all the other features that you would expect too, such as macro mode (close ups) and timed mode (so you can be in the photo too!). In practice the camera is very simple to use and I have had no problems working with it, in fact I really enjoy using it! Hope that helps
