I've used this camera for several different purposes in its first week.
It's easy enough to use that it doesn't matter that I've already lost the manual! All the menus are logically laid out and buttons clearly marked. The camera is superb for portraits and views; it's use of flash is perhaps a bit too generous [though it gets flash exposures spot on] but it's easy enough to turn the flash off if necessary. It's less good for close-up or macro photos, where the barrel distortion of the lens becomes disturbing.
I haven't used it for videos, I'd use a camcorder for them.

[This matters to me as I'm getting on a bit and don't like fiddly buttons or hard-to-read screens]. They are a sensible size, as well, and the weight of the camera, which at first struck me as excessive actually gives a solid feel which has already grown on me.

Three things are irritating about this camera. The pettiness of not including a case of some sort - even a pouch would be better than nothing and, worse still, the absurdity of a Memory Stick that can only take six pictures at the best resolution. And don't ask about the associated software.
Transfer of the 5MP images down a USB lead is fairly leisurely, then you have to delete them from the camera manually, then you have to drill down through several directories [if using Windows] to rename each .jpe file to .jpg if you want to email them to anyone.
AMENDMENTS after six month's use.
I will add two things to my P92 review.
1: The video is poor - but if you happen to be at a gig, the sound comes out well and the camera is small enough that security don't notice it.
2: The lack of manual override for exposure is a pain if you want to do astrophotography. Through my telescope, Mars came out as a glaring white blur due to overexposure when it averaged for black sky.

Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: High battery comsumption
The camera is easy to use, and offers a wide range of different options to alter your photograph images. A simple menu is used to describe the functions of the camera and battery and photograph number status. The zoom functions allow better photograph capture. A hit with others is the film option, this allows a permanent memory of an event with sound, without carrying around a camcorder. Drawbacks to the camera include a high battery comsumption, ...

Advantages: Very easy to use, rechargeable batteries, can use ordinary batteries Disadvantages: A little on the large side and heavy side
...with very long lasting rechargeable sony batteries (AA size) but if you are out (say on holiday) and the camera batteries run out you can use ordinary AA batteries to get you by. (Ordinary batteries do not last very long - only about 20 mins - but I still think this is useful.)
All in all I am extremely pleased with my choice. The few disadvantages are as follows:
Compared to some models, it is a little on the large side - not exactly pocketable. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, you can use it to record movie clips Disadvantages: Batteries need charging alot
I have had this camera for just over 3 years, I find it very easy to use. Great for holidays, and school events. You can take pictures from 1 million mega pixels up to 5 million mega pixels. There is also an email option in set up which squashes the picture down so you can send as an email attachment on your computer. You can shoot short movie clips by switching to movie set up, ideal for sports day if you do not want to take a camcorder. You can ... ...row on different set up features. You also have a rechargeable batter charger included, so you can recharge the batteries you can also use AA batteries which I take on holiday with me as extras. There is a 3 x optical zoom which is very good. You can take pictures either looking through the viewfinder or looking at the screen, there is the usual red eye and automatic flash set ups. It is very easy to view all the pictures on the camera and delete ...

Advantages: Good Digi camera Disadvantages: Only a few
I've had my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P92 about three months before this I had the Sony Digital Mavica FD71. I changed because I wanted a smaller camera that I could put in my pocket and take anywhere. The P92 is an excelent camera that is quite easy to use and produces first clas photographs. I have used mine to take photos at football matches (non league) and the quality I have been getting when taking goalmouth shots from the half way line have to be ... ...on a web site and they have proved to be very popular. Anway back to the camera, firstly I am a complete novice in photography but found the P92 easy to use TRUE I do not use all the features on the camera but that will come in time
