This camera although now old in the world of digital photography, still holds its own...
The 4.1MP sensor is perfectly adequate for all standard photgraphy, giving photographs with vibrant colours, and a fast exposure time in comparison with equally priced cameras.
I purchased my camera around two years ago and I have still not found any need to replace it.
The main purpose that I purchased this model was the availability (although limited) at the time of a underwater addon kit. This has allowed me to fully utilise the camera whilst surfing, snorkeling and diving and has yielded fantastic images thoughout.
The infolithium battery life on the camera is in my opinion excellent as well. I have admittedly purchased a spare, but I have never run out of battery whilst out on holiday or on a daytrip when the camera has been charged the night before.
The only draw back in my opinion with this camera is the media that SONY insist on using - the sony memorystick. The maximum memory on one stick that can be used is 128mb, although you can get switchable 256mb modules. At high resolution this limits the number of pictures to about 60 per 128mb.
However given the age of the camera and the superb build quality, this camera should go on to serve me for a long while. I would wholeheartedly recommend the purchase of a new or second hand unit for general day to day use (especially with units going for around £30 on ebay at the moment, I may even but myself a backup!!)
Good first review. You'll find that people will want to know more about its functionality, ergonomics and so on. Don't be afraid to put in more detail so that a prospective buyer is in a good position to make an informed buying decsion.

You should be able to use any memory stick with this camera and this would make it more appealing to a larger number of people. Mark
