It holds around 73 photographs, which to alot of people probably wouldn't be enough space, but fortunately memory cards are cheaper now. At the time it cost me about £15 but now you can buy a 2gb card for that, which is alot more reasonable.
The camera is fairly "sturdy" in size, weighing about 0.1kg ... ...the increasingly thin newer cameras. I like to see these as positive attributes, as it means that it is less likely to break but on the other hand can be quite cumbersome to carry around.
Overall, a good buy for someone who wants a camera with reasonable features and is not too complicated! ... more

It was the first time that I had bought a digital camera so I did a bit of research first to check that I would buy one that suited my photographic needs. Even when other smaller cameras with more memory have come out, I have stuck with this one because it is so reliable. It is also quite user friendly, with a limited amount of scary controls on the back.
I am not very pedantic about photography, so the 4.1 megapixels that the camera contained was enough for me. One of the features that stood out for me was the fact that it had a Carl Zeiss lens, which I was told was a good quality lens, so made up for the average amount of megapixels.
When I first got the camera, I did something that everyone would tell you not to do, I ignored the instructions. Oh no! Fortunately, I didn't really need to read them, as how to work the camera is fairly self explanatory. I just had to turn on the camera with the power button, make sure that the slider on the back was under the camera symbol and press down on the larger of the two buttons on top of the camera. This would only be on the automatic mode, however, but to change the setting to suit lighting, time of day, etc, you just have to press the mode button and move to another setting. There are several different settings such as auto, daylight, fluorescent, incandescent. I have had a slight problem with the night setting as once I was trying to take fireworks photos and I tried taking the photo and it would take a few seconds before it actually took it. With some careful timing, I managed to press down on the shutter button slightly before the firework burst so I eventually managed to get them synchronised.
With the camera a usb cable and software for putting photos onto the computer is included. This was fairly easy to install, until I got around to putting photos onto the computer and I ended up being bombarded by countless programs, all trying to load my photos. These were very quickly beginning to take over my desktop and some were difficult to get rid of. After I had exited from most of these, the process was fairly straightforward.
It takes two AA batteries and before I found some rechargeable batteries ,I kept having to buy batteries, which was beginning to add up a bit, as I usually don't have alot of money anyway. When I first got the camera, I had a major problem with the battery life. It would turn off at random times, sometimes leaving the shutter open and I was useless to do anything about it. It was probably faulty batteries, as I have not had any similar problems since, or many problems at all really.
As well as taking photos it can also shoot videos. I have not taken many, but the ones that I have are of a reasonable quality. These can be viewed on the 1.5 inch screen, which I feel is fine for photographs, but doesn't really show videos that well. There is also a slideshow setting with which to view photos, but again the screen isn't really big enough to display them.
It has 32mb internal memory so I could only store about 20 photos on it, so I bought a memory card from a sony shop. It is only 128mb, but that is enough for me since I don't even use up this amount of space. ...WIth this in mind, this Sony fares well - the price I piad of £139.99 is now easy to beat both online and in high street stores.
Second though for digital cameras I look for a trusted name. Some might argue that this represents an unnecessary brand loyalty that will cost me in the long run ... I argue the opposite. Having been stung frquently by the 'unknowns' I now stick to the knowns. Again, this Sony inspires a trust - Sony produce quality goods ... ...purchase of this camera.
So, what do you get for your money.
Surprisingly you get a well equipped point and click machine. There is little need to play with settings or think about anything other than the composition here - just point and click and enjoy the great results in a variety of lighting conditions. Advantages: A small, stylish camera, easy to use even for beginners that takes good quality pictures Disadvantages: LCD screen could be made bigger so you don't have to zoom in on images
...There has been warnings from Sony that there is a problem with some of the LCD sceens which makes them go blank and although this camera isn't on the list for this occuring, there has been incidents. I think if this does happen everything will still work by pressing buttons alongside the user manual so you know which mode you're changing etc...
Contact Sony before you buy incase you're worried of this happening to you.

I bought this as a present for my partner after spending several hours searching the internet for the best product at a price i could afford. I must say i tend to use it more than he does.
The camera is packed full of features, including 4.1 Megapixels, 3x Optical Zoom, up to 10x Smart Zoom, 6x Precision Digital Zoom. The camera also has Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens and MPEG video mode ... ...are anything like me, when you first get something new you use it quite a lot and they didnt last very long at all. I would recommend investing in some rechargable batteries or at least several spares.
The picture quality is good. Ample for what an amature photographer would require. There is also the option to switch between different effects, such as black & white, negative, sepia etc.
There are many options enabling you to change the settings ...
