I have just been given this camera for birthday in November and I can only say what a joy it has been to use!
the picture is so clear and the resolution is excellent. The shots are clear and crisp. The flash is absolutly amazing, in a darkened room i took a photo and you would think it was broad daylight, as the flash lit the whole room up. the video is also clear, although you can barely hear any sound on it, but it isn't a video camera so anything like that is a bonus!
I agree with the last review in the fact that it can be a bit slow off the mark taking pictures, and is not designed for quick shots.
I do think this camera is a delight though and it is compact and smart looking. You would be hard pressed to find a better camera for the money you are paying. Sony is also a good reliable name, so you know you are getting a good deal.

Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S500
Advantages: This is the best camera one can get especially if you are on holiday and want to take as many photos as possible! Disadvantages: You cannot do a poster of AO size unless you have to have a 4gig card but then probably this camera will not support 4gig i suppose.
