...After finally settling on the Sony DSC W50 I was extremely pleased with the result. This 6 megapixel camera is small and pocket-sized, measuring about 5cm by 9cm, and about 2cm thick. The aluminium body construction means it is a lot more durable than those plastic cased cameras, yet is still very light. However I would still recommend buying a case for it, so it doesn't get scratched.
Navigation of the camera is very quick and easy. It only took ... ...have to buy a special Sony Li-ion battery if you wanted a spare to take out should the battery die on you. However, as the battery life is so long the chances of it running out while youre out and about are small. Just make sure it's charged up before a big trip.
One of the best features is the large 2.5inch LCD screen, which takes up most of the back of the camera. It is great to use when taking photos, and pictures appear very clear and bright ...

This is the best camera in this price range for anyone who wants to get a decent result but has little photography experience.
Easy to understand, fab facilities, fun, looks gr8!
I wouldn't swap mine for anything! I make money with it, it produces such crystal clear superb shots, and with an exciting range of options: my fave is 'twilight portrait without flash' - I've just taken a series of exceptional christmas tree lights delayed effect patterns: ... ...can view past shots 9 at a time, quickly delete rubbish angles, shoot in any light. I have got fantastic twilight shots in such poor light any other camera would have capitulated.
I've nowhere near explored all this superb model has to offer but I get gr8 results every time, unless I point at the wrong thing, which is no fault of the camera!
This makes taking pix fun and daring! I take more and more arty shots daily.

Having had an earlier generation Sony digital camera and been very happy with it, when it came to choosing a new one recently I thought I would stick with what I knew. This neat little camera is perfect for anyone who doesn't want to faff about with complicated settings and just needs a compact point and press item that takes good quality photos. It is very easy to use, with easily accessible pre-sets (though care needs to be taken that the dial ... ...camera out each time). Using the automatic setting gives perfectly good pictures, though you do have the flexibility to alter the settings yourself. Battery life is good - on a photo-intensive holiday I replaced the battery after about 5 days, though I suspect it had a couple of days life left in it. ...

I bought my Sony DSC-W50 about 3 months ago and it was my first digital camera. I had looked around and done research for a long time and finally decided I wanted to buy sony as my parents have a video camera that is Sony and it's amazing. So I narrowed it down to a few and finally went for the W50 as it was only about £20 more than the W30. The only difference I could find was the screen size but I thought go for it! I wanted to spend about £150 ... ...think this camera is well worth the price. Some brands can't seem to pull it off in all areas of technology but Sony seems to do it with everything. I would well reccommend this camera even for a first time user with less knowledge than me, it's a great investment. ...

Sony have developed a reputation for producing high quality camera equipment at affordable-for-everyone prices. Their stylish designs go hand in hand with the performance of the products, and the Sony Cybershot W50 is no exception. Even though this camera is small enough to slip into your pocket, it still features a 2.5 inch bright colour lcd screen and captures a huge 6 megapixel image. There is a 3x optical zoom and can the W50 can enlarge up to ... ...cybershot viewer software. As with many of the high end Sony cameras, this one sports a carl zeiss lens, offering the very best in image capturing quality.
