Stunning quality photos, but quite bulky camera 4 of 4 Ciao Users found the following review helpful
Rating from jojo92 4 Stars ()

Advantages Quality of pics, "zoom" feature, screen to view pics after

Disadvantages lack of portability

--What you get--
A top of the range, crystal clear 7.2MP camera with a memory card slot to take out and insert into a computer.

--What I use it for--
When we go on holiday, this camera makes the perfect accompaniment to take stunning holiday shots of people and scenery. The Sony technology is refined and was very futuristic in this device when we bought it only about 3 years ago!

--Value for money--
Considering how much we have used this camera, it has definitely been value for money. It's an initial cost but then upon use it is worth it.

--My personal opinion--
One of my favourite features is the display of the photo at the back of the camera. This gives you an accurate idea of what the picture will look like in large, and is ideal for going through your back catalogue of photos before you get home!
If you're travelling light, this camera is definitely an extra weight as it is so heavy! However, it's intuitive interface makes for a lot of fun taking pictures.
The original memory card that it came with filled up quite quickly so I would recommend buying a new, larger memory card if you will be taking lots of photos. Different camera brands may offer you more memory, so it is worth noting this as something to consider when you are purchasing.
The weight would put me off using it as a personal camera, but for a family holiday camera it fits the bill!

--The Features--
The camera lets you zoom in x16 to see the details of each photo before you try taking another! The dial can be quite confusing when you first start using the camera but to view the pics you turn to the triangular shaped symbol and back to return to using the camera. The lens will automatically open when you choose camera mode and fold in on itself, which is a clever feature, when you are just viewing the pics, so as to protect the lens. This makes the camera quite a durable and well thought out design.
However, you can't argue with the excellent photo quality which can then be uploaded to the computer to make a slideshow or whatever you like! The good thing about having your photos on a memory stick is that if you own one of those digital photo frames you could simply transfer the memory stick from your camera straight to your digital photo frame without any extra effort - Voila! Holiday pics on demand! (Even the ones that shouldn't be displayed in public!)

--The Negatives--
Fairly pricey and quite a heavy device compared to some cameras. It makes up for it with its stunning photographs and easy to use interface.
Can fill up the memory quite quickly.

To summarise, when we bought it 3 years ago it was the cutting edge! Now I am sure you can find cheaper and lighter models which do an equally good job with your photographs. Still overall a great product, so three stars. I would definitely consider buying the same design in a lighter model.

Summary: Fun to use, but outdated in how heavy it is - would probably buy a lighter one next time!
