OK I'll be honest. I havent bought a portable CD player before. I know this is strange given that everyone seems to have them nowadays. I have millions of CD's and I am sick of recording them to minidisc. So i thought I'd turn less modern and buy a CD player for ease of use. Now, i'm glad I did!
This CD-player plays all my CD's perfectly. It must have an extremely powerful laser as a lot of my CD's to be honest have scratches and my home CD player doesn't play all of them perfectly. However, this one does. The sound quality is also brilliant. I bought some normal cheap Sony headphones and the quality is incredible. However I have researched and some of the players come with headphones, I would recommend trying to find this for an extra bargain.
The volume goes up to an incredibly loud sound. Feels like your ear drums are about to burst. The player has some extra functions. As well as the basic functions such as random play and repeat you can increase the bass in a few stages. When on full you can really feel it bashing your ear drums. I warn you dont turn the bass up full unless you want a shock!
The player comes with rechargeable batteries which is pretty standard nowadays. In terms of charging they are very quick, maybe an hour. However their battery life is minimal lasting only 15 hours. I would recommend Duracell Extra Strength batteries for play life of 50 hours plus.

The look of this player is really cool to say the least. It is of modern design, compact and light with a weight of 158g. Brilliant compared to it's contempory designs!
The player is slightly noisy during playback but usually you will be listening to music at this point so it shouldn't really matter. The only way I found this was using the optical output to record mini-discs. This can also be used to connect your speakers for high quality sound production. The LCD remote included helps to make a good in home system possible.
An amazing bargain for about £70 at most places. I would recommend to all those wanting to play their music CD's on the move. Amazing quality at an amazing price.

My brother got this Player for christmas and i have borrowed it few times due to cant be botheredness to record minidisks.
It is compact and slim size and easily fits into the back pocket of my shorts which makes it extremely useful and practical.
Complete circle WALKMAN design i found rather fetching than the usual 3/4 circle and on side straight line. the buttons are also positioned on the side of the player rather than on the face which makes ... ...batteries and the charger cable is linked to the CD player. You can also use 2 AA batteries and these last for about 50 hours of playback. This is pretty good compared to other CD players on the market and my own personal one which eats up batteries like anything.
The bit of this player i like the most is the LCD remote controller. It controls the player without even touching the main part and you can perform all the normal functions like volume ...

Is compatable with all CD formats (CD-R's and CD-RW's) , this Sony product is almost alongside the ranks of a Mini Disc player, apart from it's size of course. With it's simplistic silver circular design and weight of 160g, it brilliantly fits into your pocket. it comes with good quality headphones and has a handy output device that is usefull for recording minidiscs.
The player seems to last for a good 40 to 50 hours, depending ... ...come with the product. The Sony DEJ785 is jog proof - it withstands a huge amount of bumping about My only real negative comment would be the battery holder being beneath the CD slot, which means you have to take out the CD to replace them, only a problem if you're either; on the move, or losing your favourite part of a song.
There isn't an in car kit supplied with this model, though a small amount of cash can remedy this (that's if you haven't ...

...been absolute bliss. At last sony has come up with quite a masterpiece. The bass is quite full & deep which is rare in a SONY. Also the soundstage was expanded & imaging was RIGHT ON DOT. The bass hitting the inner brain, Cymbals emerging from far ends on the sides & the CHILLS from the top, just like it should be. Though without Mega Bass function turned on the player is very bland except for the mids it is not of concern to me or anyone for that ... ...i had seen many a sony earlier and had one b4 i broke my D-E400 to bits [thats a big nightmare] but none have a sound as good as the D-EJ785 if not perfect. Actually i wanted to give a [4.5/5] for the D-EJ785 but it was a relief for me hence this outburst. Maybe in a few days as i recover from the hangover i might re-rate the Sound Quality to 4.5, you can take my word -- ITS JUST AMAZING. But again don't expect a bose or something like that cos for ...
