it is the best i have ever been made to realise, although it looked a s if it was late when i was buying it but now i hear something better than the disc i insert into it .it looks and soumnds as if i am already in heaven. the sound system is great and fantastic. the whole machine gives a resounding effect as if you were at the mixing studio. you know what i mean , don't you?. i think i can never sttle for anything less than this.sony as really helped by providing this in the market for us all to buy and enjoy. this is a good development in the disc and c.d world.you can afford it. it is better to settle for the best as econmists would say ,ceteris paribus, thie guarantee is even than the years given

I have owned this for more than three years now. I have a white one. I still have'nt got bored of the player, lots of usb playes come and go ...
It does have a few nags, like sometime the disc starts to skip, this is only fixed after removing the batttery (which is really nice and small)!
I wish Sony had done their testing then, but hopefully by now this issue must have been fixed.
It has great bass controls, however i occasionally opt to listen to it using pro headphones ...
All in all the best product for a audio buff!

...I got sucked in by the advertising on this one - Sony say that using the ATRAC software supplied with their new CD player range, you can fit up to 30 albums on one CD.
I'd looked at iPods and the various digital alternatives, but this option was both cheaper and more convenient. I buy CD's not MP3's, and I listen to bought albums and home burned CD's. The idea of being able to fit my whole music collection onto maybe 20 CD's, for less than £60 was very appealing.
The DNE300 is the entry level product in the ATRAC range, and is packaged with Sony's Sonicstage software for compressing and recording tracks onto a standard CD-R/RW.
The software was easy to install (and is available for Windows (98/ME/XP) and very simple to use. You can set it up to record the whole CD or select certain songs, and there is a choice of compression...
