Me and my mum saw our doctor with a digital frame in her office and we thought that was such a clever device we just had to get one. In a world where everything is pretty much digital it seemed logical to show our photos from our digital camera on this rather than leaving them on the computer.
***The Product*** It has a 7inch LCD frame which is photo quality. It will rotate your picture in the frame for correct viewing of landscape and portrait positions. The multi-card slot accepts Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, SD, MMC, CompactFlash, MicroDrive or xD media. Pictures from your computer can be easily transfered to the frame's memory with no software needed. The internal
memory is 256MB which can hold up to 500 pictures to display on your frame. You can choose whether you wish to use the slideshow mode to show your photos or choose to use the clock display. The frame also includes a wireless remote and AC power adaptor. Your photos will be shown in 152 x 91mm.
***Was it easy to use*** We're both pretty good with technology but we did get a bit of help from my Grandad. My mum wanted to have pictures from her mobile on the frame whereas I had a digital camera with photos I wanted. Mine was fairly easy, I just uploaded the photos onto my computer by the instructions from my digital camera and then uploaded them onto the frame following the instructions provided. My mum however had to upload the photos from her mobile onto the computer. At that point my digital camera did not have a removable memory card and neither did my mum's phone so this was the way we had to do it. My mum had a lot of problems just trying to upload them onto the computer from her mobile. After a while she succeeded but I already had about 10 photos on there. My grandad told her to save all the pictures onto a memory card that he gave us. We didn't really know how to do this, lol, so he did it for us. She slotted it in and her pictures were up.
***Photo Quality*** The photo quality was really good. Of course we were both worried of touching it because we were so impressed we were afraid of breaking the frame or damaging the LCD screen. I found with my photos that because they came off a very cheap digital camera they didn't look so great. They were slightly fuzzy and it put me off wanting to use the frame to show them off. My mum's mobile phone photos were much better but her camera on the phone was pretty good. If you have good pictures with already good quality then this will show them off beautifully but if you have poor quality photos then it will show off how poor your photography is.
***How long has it lasted*** The frame has lasted us over a year now. But I was bought a digital printer for my camera and decided to use that instead as I always remembered to retouch my photos before printing so I stopped using the frame. The frame has now moved from the sitting room into my mum's bedroom where she did use it from time to time but has slightly forgotten about it.
***Conclusion*** The photo quality is the best part about this product. If you do have good photos then they will look stunning on here but if you don't be aware. Although it's easy to use, it's a bit of hassle uploading photos from the camera/mobile onto the computer then onto a memory stick. But I did find that if my friends had any photos on their computer that I wanted to use, I went over and put my memory stick in and saved the photos onto it meaning I could use them on in my frame. It would be good if you already had a lot of photos you wanted to use or if you have some and that's all you want. Although it's clever that it can hold 500 pictures, I don't think that in the 3 years I've owned a digital camera have I ever taken an amount of photos near that number. I would recommend getting it because it is a great bit of technology but a bit too much of a hassle for myself. It is though the more efficient way as instead of spending money on ink carteridges, like I do now, you just simply insert your memory card.
