...Mini DV tapes are great... And the best thing is you can record over them as many times as you like over and over again and you still get a high quality picture. Well what about my experience: Having brought a DV Camcorder I wanted to buy DV Tapes.. So rather than just buying any DV Tape I started to do my research like I normally do when I buy any of my products. I searched online (Googling IT) for DV Tapes that where of a high quality and which had a perfect playback quality. While searching over the net I came across a few DV Tape makes such as Fuji, DVC, Sony, Maxell & TDK Having read reviews about the products like I normally do, I decided to go down to my local Argos store and buy TDK DVM-60 MiniDV Tapes for £7.99. Advantages: Takes regular sized audio cassettes, double-time recording, inexpensive model
Disadvantages: Needs to be used close to sound-source, a bit bulky for some tastes

...I always wanted a dictaphone as a child. Largely, I admit, for slightly dubious reasons (i.e. I wanted to plant it in my big sister's bedroom and find out if she was talking about me.) Many years on, as a student, I finally received one as a birthday gift so that I could record important lectures. This certainly did come in handy during those classes that, however hard I tried to stay alert, had me head down and drooling on the desk within minutes. The Sony TCM-200DV Cassette-Corder (or 'dictaphone' to you and me) is a fairly basic model compared to some products on the market - but it does what it says on the tin and it does it to a perfectly acceptable standard. Advantages: Small Easy To Use, Gr8 picture Quality
Disadvantages: Too Small For My Big Hands, short recording time

...I own a JVC DV Camera for those of you who arent technologhy experts a mini DV is basically digital camcorder! These tapes are small, and easy to use, they have a short recording time of 60 minutes for short play SP and 90 minutes long play LP, they are quite expensive at 15.00 (sorry ive lost my pound sign), the picture quality is great and the audio sound is very sharp. I do like the fact that the tapes are small but they are a little to small for my big hands and some people may not have that problem but I am an unlucky person!
