I recently entered a competition on a website which sells gadgets just for men. The prize was this lovely Sony DVD player. I was overjoyed when it turned up on my doorstep without me splashing out.

For those of you who have been sleeping for the past few years the new big thing is portable DVD players. I myself don't see why anyone would need such as thing but seen as I didn't pay for it I'm not going to moan.

If you have kids and you want to keep them entertained during a long car ride this is a great idea. Your be able to get around 4/5 hours out of this little machine.

It will play any DVD you want, this includes American, R1, so no more waiting for the latest releases just have them delivered from USA.

While the screen is small it wouldn't be very potable if it was say 14inch. But then again you can carry around a laptop so why not make this bigger? I believe the price is just over £1000. There are models like this on the market for around 250.

The sound is of limited quality and doesn't really work well for films such as Lord Of The Rings. The speakers are small and if you have a lot of people or traffic around you it's hard to hear.

The best use I found for this was when I went to work. I put it on display in the shop and people watched a film as they waited to pay for their goods :)

So let's have a recap of whats good and whats not so good about the DVPFX1. Ok for starters the price! It's just way to high for something this size. Why not by a laptop with a DVD drive built in?

Secondly it's far too small. Just because it's portable doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to see the screen.
The sound is also of limited quality. The design is ok but nothing special. The speakers don't look very good.

I'm only giving it two stars because it's a useless thing to have. Why not buy a DVD player? Or not watch DVD's when your at the beach ect....

Anyone want it?
