The Sony DVPNS355 is a very good looking machine. Its easy to tell its made by sone, with such high quality build and design. Definately worth paying the extra. The buttonsand display are both nice and crystal clear and easy to read.
There are 3 S-video connections, you also get the cables. The picture and sound are simply fantastic, especially with a decent set of sony speakers. It also comes with virtual surround, for those of use lucky to have it on our TV.
The disc tray glides in and out nice and smoothly , and it takes the player a few moments to read the disc. The player will play region 1 dvd`s easily. You just have to put the disc in the tray and play it. Also cd`s , burnt cds , jpeg pictures and mp3s are all fine.
It is simple to install and everything from the booklet to the remote control is easy to understand. The on-screen menus are fairly simple. I love the remote, nice look and easy to use. Also there's no noise from the disc or the drive. It soooo quiet, so for those tense moments with tour surround sound and horror movie it wont be spioled but the chuttering sound found in most dvd players.
Definately the one to go for if you can afford a sony. I have found not one flawback yet. And i have had it for a few months now.
Advantages: Does everything I want it to do. Disadvantages: Not a recorder. No SCART lead.

I'd delayed getting a DVD player for as long as possible because I thought the price would come down as they became more popular. In addition, the increasing popularity of DVDs meant that videos were really cheap so I made the most of the cheap videos. Unfortunately, with the rise of DVDs, it became much harder to get hold of videos so I finally decided that maybe it was worth getting one. As we were getting married, we ... ...list rather than buy it ourselves. I therefore cannot comment on the price as I do not know how much it was.
For those of you who don't yet have a DVD player, there are many advantages of DVDs over videos (other than that they are easier to come by). Firstly, they improved sound and image quality (I guess similar to the difference between audio CDs and audio cassettes). Usually a DVD will have a starting menu where you can select different features. ...

Advantages: Its slim look, best working, easy to operate Disadvantages: none
Sony has already manufactured a lot of fantastic things and DVPNS355 is also one of them. It contain great qualities and very easy to operate.
ITS LOOK
It has a stylish sleek look. Its dark silver color is dashing. Not very heavy, I mean easy to move. Its dimensions are 42 x 4 x 24 cm. Some buttons are on the face of the player but mostly it is controlled by remote. The Disk tray move smoothly inside and outside.
... ...QUALITIES
IT has a lot of great qualities and features some of them are described below.
In the box there are 4 things DVD player, remote control + its batteries, booklet, and warranty card. All the installment procedure is available in the booklet. But I was worry about booklet that it is quiet complex not easy to understand. But the menu bar that appear on the screen is not complicated can easily be catched. Most of its functions ...

Advantages: Ultra slim and very easy to use. Disadvantages: No scart lead supplied and not Multi-region.
...of a deal with my Sony TV.
I have to say that it has to be the best DVD player I have had to date in terms of quality and features.
Despite having no scart lead in the box, it was no dilema as I have a few spare about the house but I guess it can be very frustrating to anyone that doesn't, purely for the inconvenience of having to buy one seperately. I did however find some audio leads a free Toy Story DVD feature film in the box, which was a nice ... ...use. Seeing as its the same manufacturer as my TV, the remote also controls the volume on my TV which saves me from using seperate remote controls.
I did receive this product free when I purchased my Sony TV, but if purchased seperately, it retails for around £90/£100. ...

Advantages: Super Slim Design, Childproof Lock Disadvantages: No Record Button, NO scart lead provided
...If you have any other sony products in your collection then you know how long and thin the remote is, two tone gray with a tv power and volume button (!)
As for other features on the remote, the player has the basic play, rew, stop eject buttons only: you can select display chapter or title.
surround settings. 4 setings(being a DTS player).
angle potions.
subtitles.
L or R channel audio selection.
picture mode, light dark med screen settings.
... ...the remote are:
DISPLAY: it brings up the menu for the dvd player
TOP MENU: DVD main screen
MENU: another dvd menu
RETURN:after you press stop you can press this to return you to the scene you were at.
Skipping through scenes is quiet and smooth, I didnt time it but you can chos eto have various forward skip options, from nice double speed to x3n speed.
All in all, its a dedicated CD/DVD player that looks so skinny, niomi campbell would turn ...

...look no further than this Sony DVD player.
It was so simple to set up that within 5 minutes of opening the box I was watching my first movie on DVD.
It comes with the following features:
Multi-region
MP3 CD-R/RW VCD CD-R/RW Playback SVCD DVD CD JPEG Viewing Remote Control You will need to buy a scart lead as this is not supplied and the only disadvantage is that you cannot record in DVD format.
The recordable ones are much more expensive although ...
