I've been using this DVD player for a few months now and it came as part of a deal with my Sony TV.
I have to say that it has to be the best DVD player I have had to date in terms of quality and features.
Despite having no scart lead in the box, it was no dilema as I have a few spare about the house but I guess it can be very frustrating to anyone that doesn't, purely for the inconvenience of having to buy one seperately. I did however find some audio leads a free Toy Story DVD feature film in the box, which was a nice suprise. I'm not sure if this is a standard freebie with the DVD player.
It plays DVD's, DVD-RW, CD's, VCD and Data CD. I have found this product very easy to use, I like the fact that I can stop the DVD during play, then resume at a later point exactly where I'd stopped it. (even when the power off button is pressed) It also has all the usual DVD features such as chapter selection, screen zoom, screen size, sound options, time/text, subtitles etc etc.
I've also found the Data CD option useful as I can view family pictures that I have stored on to disc. You can zoom in on pictures, rotate them or have a slide show if desired and select the speed of the slides.
When playing CD's, you can listen to specific tracks if desired in a particular order if so desired by using the program feature. There is also a shuffle feature which I like.
There is also a parental lock whereby if you have young children in the house and have movies that you wish them not to watch, you simply put that DVD into the player and you can set 'parental control' for that specific DVD. Everytime that DVD is put into the machine, it will ask you for the four digit code prior to playing.
I am not wise when it comes to setting up electrical equiptment, but found this DVD player easy to install and easy to use. Seeing as its the same manufacturer as my TV, the remote also controls the volume on my TV which saves me from using seperate remote controls.
I did receive this product free when I purchased my Sony TV, but if purchased seperately, it retails for around £90/£100.
