Sony have produced a good basic DVD player with some useful extra features in the DVP-NS305. As well as good picture quality and sound that typifies a Sony, this player can also play audio CDs, video CDs, and mp3 CDs (which is becoming increasingly useful). The addition of these features means that as well as being a component of a home entertainment system, this DVD player can also double as a CD deck for a hi-fi system too. This DVD player in conjunction with a Sony Wega widscreen TV, makes a good start in the home entertainment system direction. The unit is aesthetically pleasing, having a stylish brushed aluminium case, and the remote control gives access to all the functions of the player, including ejecting the DVD, and switching between TV and DVD mode. All in all, this is a good option to go for, especially for the first time buyer who's looking for the quality associated with a Sony.
