* Inspiration for Review*
Brilliant CD Walkman. I had bought the walkman several months back, but recently dropped it off the second floor of my house.
I was peering outside my bedroom window with my cd walkman, when I slipped, and the poor walkman hurtled to the ground. When I came to pick it up, and re assembled the cd which had burst out of it, the batteries and the battery cover, the thing still worked as if it hadnt been dropped! Now if thats not an inspiration for a jolly good review, I dont know what is.
So, a great big thumbs up for Sony!
* The Spiel ( Features ) *
-Styles/ Look and Feel-
Firstly, I`d like to note on the different styles in which this CD Walkman comes in. In this day and age, people love to customize, and personalise their goods, with the introduction of " Express on Covers" from Nokia, and even the new introduction of covers for imac computers. Sony has not been ignorant to this need. The CD Walkman D - E330 comes in a choice of 3 additional colours to the standard one which is silver. They come in Blue, purple and green. I however opted for the silver - am not very keen on bright and garish colours. It does however, still look very sexy in its other outfits!
In regards to the way it looks. Modern, contemporary and chic. Its controls are set out in a generally user friendly fashion, with simple and clear functions stated on each button (the guide book which comes with it, which for the many technophobic people out there, is extremely easy to use, and will get you using it in no time). The LCD Screen is compact and clear.
-Sound-
The sound on the walkman is brilliant. Without the bass function it allows a peaceful and relaxing listen, and with, has the ability to pump up the bass for a good old dance (which i am kind of doing at the moment). The bass system is relatively standard amongst most of the basic SONY CD Walkmans on the market, known as MEGA BASS, which in my opinion with a decent set of headphones is more than satisfactory. I am currently listening to a Ministry of Sound CD, which sounds pretty impressive.
It also has the common track controls, such as repeat track, repeat all, programme play, and random play, which i think is generally of common quality across the board.
-Additional important information-
- Firstly, the Sony Corp. has given it a 1 years warranty, and therefore if it breaks ( or doesnt break in my case) it can be repaired. One word of warning however, the warranty is limited to the one year period, and carries certain conditions (read the pamphlet with the walkman to read in to the conditions of the warranty).
- Battery type is size AA. The CD walkman requires 2 batteries, and if Alkaline batteries, can provide up to 33 hours of sound.
- Sound output is Stereo - Headphones are binaural - CD system has a top load of 20 to 20,000 Hz
- Enclosure Material is made of plastic, which is given a metallic effect to make it look as if it is made of aluminium. Which is of exquisite taste, may I say so Sony.
- Its connections include obviously a headphones port (mini-phone stereo 3.5mm) , and a D.C. power input port, which allows for recharge capabilities.
- Has a handy CD-R and CD-RW compatibility, for those MP3 burners like myself.
* Final Synopsis*
I love this CD Walkman. Especially with my almost tragic circumstance. If I could go back to the shop tomorrow, and have all of the other CD Walkmans on display for the same price, including the really high tech ones, I dont think I would change my mind. If I had chose a different model, I think this evening wouldnt have been as musically entertaining!

I have this very model and agree with you on all the points you've made. I don't use the "Jog" control on mine, i find it doesn't skip even without it on. I do wish the max volume was greater, better ear-phones might just remedy that though. Excellent op and rated so :-) Ciao for now - J
