I bought the a1018 as a pay as you go mobile, so i found that a few of the functions, such as network selection were unobtainable to me. Saying that, I've had no trouble with this nifty little phone. Ok- so it might not be microscopic, be able to surf the net, or play the latest dance tunes, but it's still a very functional little phone. It does have the interchangeable faces (i find tham a little hard to come by though), plus a few different dialling tones- mostly classical- and a dialling tone option to compose your own masterpiece to annoy the hell out of everyone on the bus when your hotline gets busy. (I programmed twinkle twinkle- move over mozart). It's also a world phone and supports international roaming. My networks gets that up and running for PAYG customers this month, so other networks will be following. It also has an option to enter the recipient name of a text message rather than scramble your brains for a phone number. 99 name memory on the sim card, mini sim card which is very easy to insert, and a very understandable menu all contribute to the plus factors on this phone. No separate phone book menu as on Motorolas. However the tones are very light and airy, and if you're deaf as a post as I am , it takes a stranger to inform you your handbag is playing music twinkle twinkle before you realise you're being called. I have seen this phone support a number of networks, so you won't have to rush out and replace next time you won't the latest network's offer. it is also an EFR phone- improving gossip quality!
