Wow, it's been a while since I was last on Ciao, 2002 was the last time in fact, and it's now early 2008. Seems like there have been some changes since then. I'd best start writing again.

If you are looking for a great value phone full of features and at an affordable price then the Ericsson A1018s is a great choice.
My wife has recently bought one on the Vodafone Pay as You Talk Network. She paid just £16.99 for it; currently it retails at most shops at £29.99. The deal she got was through the Index Catalogue Home Shopping Service. The phone came with £10 of calls so the actual cost of the phone was £ 6.99.
The phone itself is packed with features that just 12 months ago were only seen on the top of the range phones. There are numerous and programable ring tones, full text messageing service, phone book, clock, message alerts, sim and phone card lock and it has changeable front covers.
It may no longer be the top of the range phone but is similar in it's functions to the newer Ericsson T18s and is practicle and functional. After all if you are not looking to make a fashion statement with this phone and want it solely for the purpose for which it was intended; making & receiving phone calls then you really could do a lot worse than this phone.
Battery life is excellent, charging time is short, and talk time and standby are comparible with most of todays phones. You should get about 2 - 2.5 days of lifew out of a single charge with average usage.
Covers, hands free kits, car chargers and other accessories are easily available at cheap prices.
All in all a great phone.
