In Ericsson A-2618s there is a set of functions, necessary for today, switching on WAP, besides there is a possibility adding to the phone various equipment, beginning from banal Handsfree and finishing a miniature editing pad SMS. From this set I were interested, however, only a package Mobile Office DI28, which supplements A-2618s by a functional of infrared port and modem.
The phone has rather solid dimensions and weight. The buttons of management appear precisely under the large finger. Let's mark that arrows of scrolling are too on a sideboard of the telephone. However their disposition in the top does not allow using them with comfort.
The design strength of a device has called double feelings. On the one side, it is strong (almost monolithic) device, and with other there is some shaky antenna calls fears for quality of communication. As to the display and all that on it is mapped, here Ericsson has acted is traditionally successful. Appeared for the first time on a model Ò28 the menu, due to the reasonableness and convenience converts learning of a phone into a maximum simple problem. Furthermore, if to be delayed on the choice some seconds, will come up the information window illustrating, for what this item is necessary. All this is mapped on the four-string display that for today is not an issued parameter. However due to excellence of image and the perusal is easy for the selected font and pleasantly.
The special attention I have given to possibilities of connection of this telephone with Internet. À-2618s offers for these purpose two variants: WAP working atop SMS, and traditional modem connection. In the latter case information was delivered to a screen notebook through infrared port. Rather WAP: with set-up WAP there were some problems with choice frequency. The telephone diligently transmits SMS, and provider tries to recognize data. The problem was decided by a bell in a user's service and setting priority frequency on SMS. In remaining with tunings there were no problems. It is necessary to the user to enter number SMS-center, login and password for access and some more figures.
When work with modem DI28 practically did not arise problems. The modem was automatically defined by an operational system, and the necessary drivers and additional software are delivered on CD. The infrared connection is activated at once for connection DI28, therefore to search in the menu for item it of inclusion it is not necessary - it there simply is not present. For connection with Internet in this case telephone plays a role of a digital pipe. A solution Ericsson to deliver infrared port and modem as the separate device has made cheaper telephone, that is good. However with connection of the modem the dimensions À-2618s (and without that not small) become even more.
