Hello, I've been on here 4.5 years, so am not exactly prolific (48 reviews), but thanks to everyone who has given ratings. I seem to write most about credit cards and loyalty schemes, but am most interested in motor racing and indie music.

I recently bought one of the A2618s handsets based on the ciao members recommendations and the fact that the Orange website was offering them for £49.99 (cf. rrp £89.99 Just talk).
I was very disappointed when my phone arrived. This is probably a case of "you get what you pay for", but I was shocked by the poor quality of the phone. The phone build quality felt very flimsy, and and the call sound quality was very "tinny". I felt that it would have been better had I been holding 2 tins and a piece of string. The call sound quality was further comprimised by lack of reception. When I switched back to my old Nokia NK402 I had perfect reception, but hardly any with the Ericsson in the same location. In addition, the menu system did not follow any logical format, and the buttons were too closely spaced.
Thankfully I have been able to make use of Orange's 14 day money back guarantee (which I believe should not be promoted as something special; it's one's statutory right) and have bought a Sony CMD-J5 (which is wonderful - believe the hype!) for £79.99 from the carphone warehouse (including £10 trade in). The £30 extra is well worth it!

Thanks for pointing out that more of us should return goods that are really not what they were hyped up to be.Too many of us get something and "put up with it"!Paul

A useful opinion, just you need to say more about the features etc. for a higher rate. Cheers for the warning though, Timmy.

Dear Ciao User, We are sorry we can't show you any offers on this page for the product you have selected. You can find offers here: 1 - out of offers for Sony Ericsson A2618s
Advantages: easy to use, good for a starter mobile, excellent durability Disadvantages: lack of features, has become very dated compared with new phones
