A great phone that will sit easily in your pocket: measuring 107mm tall, 47mm wide and 12.5mm thick. And weighing just 92g its also light to carry round. Sony Ericsson has fitted a 2.3inch screen into this handset and in my opinion have compromised the keypad because of this. The size of the keys can prove problematic!. The Call and End keys are particularly small, rounded buttons at the outer ends of the handset. The inner buttons bevel inwards with a distinctive feel. But due to the size of the buttons, if like me you have quite chunky fingers, you may struggle with texts etc. But the 2.3in screen looks sharp and bright, its 320 x 240 pixels presenting no problems and the size of the screen makes for easy reading and browsing. Between the screen and the keypad a range of buttons provides access to Call and End, the two softmenus, Clear and the Activity menu. Thus providing a series of tabbed windows that take you to reminders, running apps for quick switching, user-defined on-phone shortcuts and Internet shortcuts. The C510's memory extends to 100MB and there is a Memory Stick/ MicroSD slot on the left edge. Due to its memory capacity i would suggest purchasing an SD card if you plan to store a lot of music and media on the phone. The Cyber-Shot factor of this phone is great and features the following: Picture blogging, Auto focus, Picture wallpaper, Video Clip, Video call, Digital Zoom, wallpaper animation, Video recording, Video streaming, Face detection, Geo-tagging and the 3.2 mega-pixel Camera. It's music features offer: Bluetooth stereo (A2DP), Media Player, Mega Bass, MP3 & AAC Music tones, Track ID, Album Art. Its organiser being pretty standard, offering the following: Alarm Clock, Calculator, Calendar, Flight Mode, Notes, Phone Book, Stop Watch, Tasks, Timer.
For a mid-range handset the Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot does well. It has a fairly reasonable camera, the phone itself is quite easy to use and has a decent battery life. Its talktime can reach up to 10 hours with 400 hours standby time in GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 mode. With a guided price of around £100 on pay as you go. This is good value for money. 8/10!
