**INTRODUCTION**

I have had this phone for just over a month now and I have only just decided whether it is my friend or not. I am with the phone company 3 and have a contract with them. For the past 4 years. Last month my last phone was due an upgrade as I had had my previous phone for 18 months (which was also a Sony Ericsson). I decided to choose the Sony Ericsson C902 mainly because I new it looked good and also I have never had a bad experience with the brand. I like to stick to brands that I know and trust when it comes to technology. So…. did the phone live up to my expectations?….. Here you will find out…

**LOOK AND DESIGN**

The design of this phone is very sleek and sexy. The size is 4.3 x 1.9 x 0.4 inches and it only weighs 107g. Which makes it very light and small enough to fit in your pocket without it being noticed. My model is black and silver which looks very stylish and quite sophisticated. But it also comes in red, silver and bronze. So you can take your pick of the colour you want. The screen is large enough to take great pictures (which I will go into shortly) but because of the size of the screen the makers seem to have squashed the buttons as close together as possible! This can sometimes make it difficult to text etc. I have small fingers but I have long (perfectly manicured just to add!) nails and this can sometimes cause a problem. But I'm sure I will get used to this after a while. The phone does look well…. Like a phone! In other words the look is classic but basic. Unlike some phones it doesn't look like a mini computer and neither does it look like an all in one personal assistant. So as far as the looks are concerned this is perfect for the stunning minimalists out there.

**BASICS**

At the end of the day, no matter what you look for in a phone the basics have to work well. The Sony Ericsson C902 works brilliantly as a phone. In other words the sound is clear and the volume can go pretty high for such a thin phone. The texting is easy and allows you to write the text yourself or use the predictive text. The ringtones are pretty impressive. There are no extreme ringtones which will make the entire street look in your direction when you receive a call. But some very good subtle tones which sound like real music and not a mechanically enhanced fire drill! This phone also has vibrating alert but be warned as the battery is so tiny the vibrations are definitely not going to give you a frill so to ensure you are alerted make sure you have a ringtone activated.
The battery life in my opinions pretty standard. After 2 days you will definitely need to charge it up and as with most phones now it has Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to access the internet.

** MAIN FEATURE AND SELLING POINT**

Most phones these days have a main selling point. What makes this phone stand out is the camera. I must admit I had a few problems actually finding the lens as usually it's stuck on the back of the phone for all to see. This one however is sneakily hidden behind a cover. You slide the top of the phone up and there is the lens. Great for protection and it makes it feel like a real camera. The 'C' in the C902 stands for cyber-shot technology. Which basically means it has the same important characteristics as a good digital camera should have. The camera has 5 megapixels (mega what?????) In simple terms (needed for the likes of myself) this means 5 million tiny dots make up one picture, so the picture you get is very clear and precise. The camera also has Auto focus which allows you to focus on an object in the middle of the picture, this is great of you are taking a photo of someone who tends to move around a bit. Photo-fix allows you to automatically make your pictures look better as it adjusts the light, brightness etc of the photo. The image stabiliser makes sure you photos are as anti blurred as possible. Great f you have had a few drinks with friends on a Friday night! Another clever thing I like is when the camera is switched on, there are touch activated controls on the screen which suddenly comes to life and a bright blue light shines from the side of the phone, it suddenly feels like you have stepped into another dimension or become part of a James bond movie!!
A major plus is that all of these great features work when taking videos as well. The camera doubles up as a brilliant video recorder. The pictures are crystal clear and the playback of the videos I have recorded is brilliant. The best camera I have used and I may revert to this and dump my Kodak digital camera!

**OTHER GREAT FEATURS**

I have also found some other great features on this phone which I personally really like.

The alarm allows you to choose how long you want the snooze button to last for….. My old phone allowed me to snooze for 9 minute every time I pressed it, now I can change this to whatever length of time I want!

Track Id - Is an application where you can play a little bit of a song and the handset tell you what the song is and who sings it. I used this the other day to test it out and it actually worked. Brilliant! I have no idea how but it is amazing! The phone also has a great MP3 player that has very clear sound quality and also allows s you to access fm radio as long as you plug the headphones in.

You can connect your phone to your computer using the disc provided in the box. This means you can store you pictures, address book, videos and music etc on you computer and vice versa. This is very simple and only takes a few minutes to set up. You also get step my step instructions in the handbook and also on the screen.

**TROUBLE SPOTS**
I have only found a couple of trouble spots with this phone. On my handset the back cover is extremely hard to remove if you need to take the battery or sim card out. This may be because the phone is still new. But I am worried I will break it as I have to put a lot of force on it to slide it off.

The phone is a little bit slow when moving from option to options or scrolling from page to page on the menu system. It is not snail-like but still slower then my previous Sony Ericsson.

**PRICE**
As I previously said I had this phone free as an upgrade from the phone network 3. you can get the handset for free from 3, T mobile and 02 as long as you get a contract. On pay as you go the cheapest price I have found is £210 from o2 and 3.

**CONCLUSION**
So far I am very happy with this phone. It can be a slow process when changing handsets as you have to settle in, almost like moving house! But so far I am having a lot of fun with the C902 and I feel that I still have a lot to learn and try out in terms of all its features. I am happy to be seen with the stylish design and have no problems whatsoever in its ability to be a great phone.

I still believe in Sony Ericsson!!

Thank you for reading :-)

Advantages: Great phone

Sony Ericsson C902: I have had my Sony Ericsson C902 “Cybershot” since November and I really like it. It is my first ever new phone on a contract. Before I always had great big phones that were passed on to me and they were always on there last legs! This phone has so many cool features; to be honest I don’t do them all justice and there are loads I have never used. I will write about the things I use on the phone and try to use plain English wherever ...
...phone but according to the Sony Ericsson website this phone is now available in black, bronze and silver. The style is good with a black front, (screen and keys), a coloured body and stylish silver stripes down the side. It is a shame if the red one is no longer available because it looks good and is one of the things I really liked about the design of this phone. I was worried that the red “paint” would chip off the phone and look scruffy but it ... Read review

I like my hands on thin models

Advantages: See review
Disadvantages: Few and Far between

...certainly going to get a Sony Ericsson. What this one boasts over many of the others (such as the C510i) was a 5 Mega-pixel Cybershot Camera with the "BestPic" function, 126MB internal memory and a rather large 240x320 (pixels) screen. Though not up to the heavy standards of the C905i with it's 8 mega pixel camera, the phone was the natural successor to the k800i and the k750i which were both phones I loved a few years back. The phone was released ...
...phone. It's nice to see Sony actually listened to complaints of customers to change the phone so that it's more user friendly to us media nuts. The phone also manages to have an in-built FM radio for those who prefer to listen to the radio rather than MP3's, the only flaw as far as I can see is the lack of AM functionality in the radio, in the day and age where DAB radio is taking over, it's only a matter of time before a mobile has a built in DAB. ... ...turning it on. I've had sony ericsson phones for the past 3 years and i think they are really worth the money and a reliable company that offer upto date phones. I didnt think this phone was any different than the older one in terms of features etc, just in the way it looked, but as i loved my previous phone i wasnt disapointed. Gets The Job Done!
Review of Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot by MikeB_86

Advantages: Solid build, great keypad, good quality screen, decent camera
Disadvantages: Occassionally crashes, screen not as big as it could be, no WiFi

I got the Sony Ericsson C902 as a replacement to the, in my opinion, rather dissapointing Samsung U600. I received it as a free upgrade on my £25 per month contract with Vodafone, and I have now had the phone for about 8 months. I chose this model based on its looks and the positive experiences I have had in the past with previous Sony Ericsson products. I didn't actually try it before getting it, and I was therefore a little apprehensive and not ...
...speedy. Gladly, unlike some older Sony Ericsson phones, it doesn't have the awful joystick in the middle which I found to be quite unreliable on other handsets. Instead it has a directional pad, which is pretty good for navigating the phones many features. The main selling point for the C902 is the 5 mega pixel camera. To activate it you simply pull the top of the phone up, which reveals the camera lense behind it. It features a pretty reliable auto ... Read review

Love the phone, one of the best around!
Review of Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot by xKatieeex

Advantages: Easy to use, excellent features, great phone
Disadvantages: Slightly slow, but other than that - nothing!

...unlimited texts). I had a Sony Ericsson before hand (K850i) and really liked it, so I thought I'd stick. I also tried out another phone (LG something or other) and disliked it immensely and sent it back after a day. I've had this phone now for 6 months I think. The phone looks really good, even my brother was jealous (he tends to buy all these fancy touch screen phones). The screen is just over half the length of the phone, which is good when taking ...
...other Sony Ericssons which tend to break. Although the keys are quite close together, they are raised so are easy to use. Turn it around and you think 'where the fudge is this 5 megapixel camera?!?!'. You have no idea how long I spent trying to find it. Eventually, I realised that you just hold onto the top and bottom of the phone and pull! It's great. Nice wee design feature. I really dislike the new trend for phones that are basically computers, ... Read review

Sony Ericsson C902 is stylish looking cool phone
Review of Sony Ericsson C902 James Bond Edition by  esala

Advantages: stylish looking cool phone. Has a very good camera. Cool fancy features.
Disadvantages: Power consumption is not very high.

...This phone works great!!! Over the years I have used many type of phone and ?Sony Ericsson C902? is one of the coolest phones I have used. It has a fancy looking 5MP Cyber-shot camera which gave very good high quality pictures and once we turn-on the camera the screen automatically activates the touch screen buttons which is totally cool. And talking about the phone looks, it has 240x320 pixels screen. Phone has a very good keypad and central joystick which is totally a smart classic looking one. And its fairly slim phone and weight is also good into my hand (weight is about 107g). And further the phone is 3G (HSDPA, 3.6 Mbps). And it also has Smart handset that gives very good sound. And power consumption is also not bad. I am recommending this phone to anyone...... Read review

Ultimate piece of work by sony people
Review of Sony Ericsson C902i by  rococo

Advantages: style, camera
Disadvantages: none

...At a first glance, C902 looks like a direct descendant of the Sony Ericson K850, but it will be another handset to inherit the latter. Sony Ericsson's new Cyber-Shot phone lives up our high expectations. This is an outstandingly good camera phone with a 5 megapixel camera with face-detection autofocus, LED flash, and easy to use camera controls. It also packs in a music player, FM radio, 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth and loads of memory. In addition it's a superslim stylish handset available in Black or Red. It has a surprisingly small 2" 262K-color TFT display of QVGA resolution. When the display is off, it does look like at least a 2.2 incher, but with the lights on the reason for this size is obvious - there are eight touch sensitive camera keys that backlight in blue around the display. The multimedia package includes Media player... Read review
