of the cost of original manufacturers and can be used in many makes and models of digital device. Rechargeable digital batteries are rated in "mAh" which stands for "milli-ampere hours". This rating is used to state the storage capability of a battery, e.g. a 1000mAh battery would be capable of delivering 1000mA of current consistently for one hour whereas a 2000mAh battery would deliver the same 1000mA of current for two hours. Li-on rechargeable digital batteries can deliver 40% more capacity than comparably sized NiCd batteries and weigh less than the nickel-based batteries and develop no memory effect. U-Bop battery cells are environmentally friendly, feature a very high energy density and have no memory effect. All batteries are produced to the highest quality standards. A built-in microprocessor safeguards the cells by limiting maximum voltage and by protecting against deep discharge, short circuit and overload.Brought to you byU-BopThe Accessories Boutique

I used to have a Nokia and was brainwashed into thinking they were the most useful, stylish and reliable phone on the market. I could not have been more wrong! I was very lucky to get my hands on one of these Sony masterpieces, one of my friends was flogging it of for £20 and I snapped up the deal like a crocodile (you can get them for about £50 nowadays, I think).
If you do have a Nokia, and believe they are the best thing sliced bread (such as myself), put the phone on your table and step three paces back. Think about what the phone actually has to offer and how reliable and well it has served you. Now find a friend with one of these little charms (Sony J70) and look at how it outshines it in everyway.
Sorry about my little rant and rave there, this is an opinion, not a comparison. The Sony J70 is full of pleasant surprises, useful features and settings to fit your personal needs, right down to the last detail.
~Appearance~
The phone itself is quite long in length, but turning it on its side shows that its only a couple of centimetres thick! It has an aerial at the top. The front of the phone has the top half composed of the screen (of a good size and shape) and the bottom the number keys. It is a stylish silver and is a very good-looking phone. On the side of it, there is a little rectangular switch, that if you flick down, it locks the keypad. Very useful if your in a hurry and realise that the keypad is unlocked and your speed dials are active, calling people every 10 seconds. Flicking this switch up gives you a menu on the main screen, allowing you to change the phones settings to; "Silent", "Vibrate", "Normal" or "Ring Once". Allowing you to have a completely inconspicuous, subtle or normal phone, for whatever environment you are in. There is also a wheel, allowing you to access the menu and scroll through the preferences of the phone.
~Features~ Messaging - just the usual text messages with a few different settings to play about with. You can send "cards" to any of your friends by selecting the message to "come up on screen" when sent to them!
Wap - there is the possibility of going on wap and playing games and even sending and checking email, but that is far too expensive for me!
Scheduler - now here is a useful thing if ever I have seen one! It is set out in calendar format, and you go and select a date you want put some information into and type up to 20 characters. You can then set a time for when the little message pops up and reminds you. This has reminded me about a lot of events and I suggest you use it if you have one of these phones.
Extras - the Clock has everything you can ask for. An alarm, the time in other countries, the date, a timer and even the option of a "chime" on the hour! Calculator - with decimal places, typical mathematical symbols and an up to date currency converter. Games - four games with optional sound. Juvenile, but fun nonetheless! Email - very modern and quite confusing, but I'm sure your kids can work it out for you!
Call History - shows if you have missed any calls, made any unwanted calls and the duration of all your calls put together. This is standard and easy to view.
Phonebook - this is very clever, because you can put a little icon next to the number of the person, signalling whether it is a mobile number, a home number, office number or even fax number. All these types of numbers can be saved under the same name too. The memory on this somewhat tiny phone is just phenomenal, up to 200 numbers I think!!
Settings - here, you can change almost anything on your phone. Optional wallpaper, backlight and even the LCD contrast can be changed here. Pin codes, security codes and call barring can be changed in the security section. Also several call options, including keeping your number confidential when phoning others.
Sounds - this is where you can set your; ring tone, message tone, error tone, turn off tone, turn on tone, alarm tone and key pad tones. You can have personalised ones, where you record your own sounds! Again, very modern and only for the young or creative mind!
The battery power lasts for a long time (up to about 3 days without recharging) and takes only an hour to fully recharge.
This concludes the journey of the Sony J70, I hope you enjoyed your trip and hope to see you again soon. Please, try out this phone and draw your own conclusions from it. I would recommend this as a new phone, for anybody who feels as if they are living in the past with an old "brick".
Overall, this phone can be enjoyed thoroughly by anyone (male or female) and of all ages (12+).

...(now ex) boyfriend had a Sony CMD-J5. This phone is GORGEOUS. It reminds me a lot in style of the Sony Clie hand held - sleek, silver, with a purple trim round the display. After seeing his, I fell in love and just HAD to have one.
I bought mine on contract from BT Cellnet - they were pushing one of the newer Sony phones and desperate to get rid of this one, so they basically gave it to me for free on the condition that I took out one of the higher ... ...The phone, like most Sony products, has a scroll wheel. This is located on the left hand side, and is very nice to use once you get used to it.
The keypad lock is a small dual purpose slider also on the left - you push the slider up to change between silent, ring once, ring, and vibrate, and push it down to lock the keypad. Pushing up again unlocks it.
The speakers and mic on the phone are very good quality - they are quite loud and you can actually ...

Advantages: Looks good, different to a boring Nokia, record your own ringtones Disadvantages: Volume, ariel, no infra-red
...across the J5. It's a Sony phone - a name you know you can trust - and so it's automatically a bit different from the same-old, same-old bog-standard Nokias on the market.
It's light, one of the lightest around in fact, and comes with a cool, sleek, silver face. It has an easy-to-hold design and big screen to make it a talking point as soon as you "accidentally" leave it out on full view in the pub.
The 'jog dial' option means you can scroll through ... ...time - you can do everything with one hand.
WAP and e-mail options are good, speed is reasonable, and all the usual features like alarm, currency converter, calculator, calender, etc are there too.
There are four games, but let's not dwell on them - they aren't the best in the world but you don't buy a phone to play games, do you?
The big selling point (and talking point) of the phone is the ability to record your own ringtones. Not the usual ...

Advantages: Really great phone, that will make you stand out from everyone else Disadvantages: A little more expensive than the 3310, but definetly worth it.
...to the much lesser known Sony J5e. I had quite a tough decision when I came to buy my new mobile. Imagine the scene, I'm in the swiring hubbub of ringers, menus and changeable covers, desperatly wading the desert of payment details to find the holy grail of mobile phones. When suddenly two great images appear before me. The illustrious and well known 3310, and the more descrete J5e. On the one hand the 3310 does have one or two advantages, but in ... ...the wonderful world of the Sony J5e:
Internet access in the form of WAP. This means that vital, 'need to know' information can be yours at a relitivly cheap price.
A huge array of ring tones that defy the normal monotonous type which is basically the same une over and over. You can also download tunes of the Internet.
Freindly menu interface, no more clicking buttons constantly (giving you arthritis in the hands in to long run) the J5e has a 'Jog ...

Advantages: the screen and graphics Disadvantages: slightly fussy wheel navigation
...with his new fancy pants sony phone.
I have to admit - hard as it may be being a devoted nokia lover - this is a great phone. Size wise, it is slightly taller than the average phone these days, although it is super thin and extremely light. The buttons are tiny abd thin but 'clicky' so they are easy to use. The screen is huge and has a high resolution, and is just excellent for graphics. Seriously more like a computer than a phone, screen wise. ... ...what do you expect from sony though?
WAP is activated by pressing the middle button at the fron of the phone, east to use and better looking than a lot of other WAP phones. cant complain about that either.
There is not much left to say other than that this is a great phone, slightly expensive at the moment but i can only imagine that it will get cheaper in a few months as all new handsets do these days. If it is fun ringtones you are after, look ...

Advantages: Looks great, light and stylish. More individual. Disadvantages: Ringing volume is too quiet.
...I have had a Sony J5 since I chopped in my Nokia 3210, mainly because it was dated and every 11 year old kid, on every street corner has one! The Link decided that they would take my old phone, swap the sim card so I kept my number and network and pay ME £50 in vouchers for my trouble. Amazing I know, but that's another story.
I am particularly impressed with the huge display and (as with most sony products) solid build. I've dropped mine from about ... ...maximum volume. If anyone from Sony is reading this, i've only got one question, WHY?
One of the most innovative features is the "Record your own tone". It's basically a built in message recorder that will play back your recorded sounds. This causes much hilarity in the office or in the pub, but be warned, the sound of you having a dump will be funny for your mates around a pub table, but not so funny when it rings in your job interview the next ...
