Now not a current phone, the GA628 was for a long time the only free phone offered by Cellnet and Vodafone. Solid as a tank, with its achilles heel being it's aerial, it nevertheless did the job. However it was infuriating to use in terms of the menu system and for writing SMS messages. Reception was good with it, and it was robust, apart from the aerial. Single band is was also only ever an entry level phone, and the battery life was about two and a half days at most. I had no complaints about it apart from it was very basic, although it served me well for a year, and my mum is stilling getting use out of it.

Advantages: Cheap, the simcard and battery are easy to change. Disadvantages: Too big to fit your pocket, the worthless display and it's too difficult to use.
