Having just upgraded my old Sony Ericsson to a M/rola Razor, I could have kicked myself when my mother announced she would love a camera phone!
The old Sony having walked itself into the handbag of a.n.other was no longer around so I looked for an affordable Camera phone for mum.
I came across the K300i on the Sony website which was one of my first ports of call.
Having enjoyed and found the old z600 a delight I thought I would get the same level of phone from Sony.
SADLY now I have the phone and passed it on to mum I find the phone very lacking in parts.
Yes, it is light and compact, yes it has a camera and games and polyphonic rings but that is the sum of the good things about this phone.
The screen is small, the sounds dire and the camera just adaquate
My biggest grip is that there are no leads with the phone and so the thoughts of being able to download pictures onto ma's PC are a dream.
Unless I spend more money on a cable and software the pictures can only stay on the phone.
I would not have minded but reading from the manufacturers website it is not advised that you need 'optional extras'.
In fact when you go to accessorys, there is no acle listed which again made me think the cables wluld be supplied with the phone.
YES, I know this is a 'budget phone' but I expected more from Sony Ericsson and I really am surprised at the lack of finesse of this phone.
It is an icon menu driven but the screen is really not clear enough to really make this a walk in the park.
The menu system seems to follow the same pattern as my old phone and that Sony Ericsson are to be praised as it is logical and easy to understand even if awkward to see on this handset.
I have tried unsuccessfully to get the infared to work as well but that does not want to play and is another annoyance with this phone!
I had read good reviews elsewhere, but I am here to say that I would really recommend buyers to be very aware that this phone is limited in it's capaciry to delight
I also bought this phoine without going into a shop, I bought from the net.
Again, buyer beware, go and at least hold and touch the phone before you buy.......

i found this somewhat helpful in so much as i have a locked k300i which i cant use at the moment and have just upgraded from a t610 (also sony erisson).I think that with the points that have been made against the k300i and the fact that the sony ericsson joystick are prone to collecting dirt and therefore rendering themselves useless i will probably get a refund on it. Thank-you

don't get me wrong, I had Sony Ericsson before and so was happy to look at them aian, problem is this phone falls way below the standard I expected
