I bought this phone about three or four months ago and I am generally pleased with it. I am not bothered about using all the functions, personally, so this review is about those I use. I am not a big mobile phone user and really only use it for occasional phone calls and text messages - both sending and receiving. I bought it in one of the big Tesco stores and I think I paid about £54 for it - I have just looked it up and it is now advertised there at £59.97 which includes £20 free air time. Previous to this mobile I had a really basic Nokia which my company supplied. I was attracted to the Sony Ericsson by it's looks (I wanted something small that would fit into my pocket so I always had it on me) and by it's price - I just wanted a cheap pay as you go. It is available in shadow blue or misty silver. I thought this model was the best in this price range and it was advertised with the following key features most of which appealed to me:
Triband - Works outside Europe e.g. the USA I wanted this feature as I spend a lot of time abroad and I have always found it works well to call and send and receive messages in the UK and in France
Camera with 0.3-mega pixel (VGA) and you can also record and play video clips which also have sound on them.
Never having had a phone with a camera before I have found this really useful as I now always have a camera on me. I used it to take a photo of damage to a hire car. It has 4 shoot modes: normal, panorama, frames (with 20 fun frames you can put on your photos and burst (where you take several photos in succession and can choose the best). There are 4 picture sizes 640x480, 320 x 240, 160 x 240 and extended; a night mode, black and white and negative effects, self timer, picture quality setting and shutter sound. It has a digital zoom 4x.. OK so the photos aren't as good as on my digital camera but I think they are pretty good still. I have downloaded them on to the computer and emailed some of the videos to friends and family.
Built-in MP3 player, Media Player, melody composer/MIDI, (MusicDJ™), Music tones and PlayNow™
I have not used these features so cannot comment
Good quality colour screen
101 x 44 x 17 mm 3.9 x 1.7 x 0.7 inches
I agree with this statement and find it very easy to see the screen. The phone is light 82 g /2.9 oz
Polyphonic & MP3 Ringtones
I am not bothered about this feature
Handsfree speakerphone
I have not tried this
Access to internet style pages - RSS feeds , Web browser Access NetFront™ Web Browser
I have never tried these features and we usually travel with the laptop and I thought it would be too expensive to use the phone for this
Memory - the phone memory is about 15MB which is fine for me!
Entertainment - 3D games, Java, Video Clip - they all work fine I guess but I am not interested in these features so have just looked through quickly
Connectivity - fast port G~PRS, Infrared port (am looking forward to trying this out) modem, synchronisation PC, USB support - have had no problems with this
Messaging -email, MMS, predictive text input, SMS long text messaging. Have managed to use all this eventually but not without some difficulty and many lost messages and frustrations - but then I am a granny so maybe this is rather more down to me than to the phone! I found the joy stick really hard to use at first and kept dialling numbers by mistake. It seems really fiddly and I am usually quite dextrous. Again I am now getting much better at this so practice makes perfect.
Communication - conference calls (haven't tried, but like the idea) polyphonic ringtones, speakerphone, vibrating alert.
Organiser - I really like the feature and use it a lot. The alarm clock is easy to set and has worked will for me. It has a business card exchange which I don't need to use; a calculator and calendar which if fine and I often use,; file manager, notes, phone book, stopwatch, tasks and timer - all again I find useful and easy to use. I use it like a diary and always carry it around.
Finally I have found the Sony Ericsson website useful:
Advantages: Very loud & Very pretty Disadvantages: no blue tooth and vga camera
I only purchased this phone last week and i am generally happy with it. it is quite abit different from my previous phone - nec 411i.... The reason i purchased it was because i needed a phone and i wanted one that was nice to look at and was small but not too small - (if that makes any sense...)
So i purchased this phone for 50 quid in fones 4 u...
i was excited cause i love getting a new phone.
However i was a bit disappointed about the camera ... ...megapizels - which is quite low compared to my last phone, the picture gets very pixalated when you take it. but when you go out of the picture and then back into it again, its a bt better (:s) The phone also does not hae blue tooth - but i didnt really mind about that use i use only infrared mainly....
Anyway enough of the bad stuff...
Besides that stuff i love the phone, its so easy to use. the menu is quite easy to understand - its like any ...

Advantages: Good Features For Price Including Video, Easy Menu, Excellent Battery Life Disadvantages: Feels a little light and a bit fragile!
...is very typical of the Sony Ericssons, and easy menu system. It doesn't try to be too clever, and is very intuitive. In my opinion, taking over the Nokia's which are starting to rely too much on reputation!
The only grumble I have is the general "feel" of the handset; it does feel a bit like a toy, and not very robust. Very light, almost empty!! However, it is a relatively small handset, not too fiddly with a very usable joystick which is very easy ... ...are not compromising quality.
Sony Ericsson have done well with the k310i, beats other budgets phones out right. Fantastic. Recommended as a simple, easy to use phone, or for those wanting a bit more from their handset but on a limited buget!!
Please message me if you have any specific questions on this phone!!! ...

Advantages: Tons of features for a low price Disadvantages: Not a significantly high quality camera
...a few days and the Sony Ericcson K310i had all of the above features and more! The second best phone at matching the above criteria I could find for under £100 was the Motorola V3, but that had a tiny 6MB space as opposed to the k310i's 15MB! O and of course V3 was almost double the price.
As well as the features mentioned above, the Sony Ericcson k310i also features the ability to play polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, a small photo editing program, ... ...currency converter, face warp and news reader, WAP and GPRS access, complete organiser and easy file manager. Its packed! The battery life is also very high compared to similar priced phones
Even though the camera built into the K310i isn't as advanced as, say the much more expensive phones like the W800i, it is still of a high enough quality to catch those unforgettable moments. It also comes with a VERY handy feature that allows a 0.3 Megapixel ...

Advantages: Cheap, good-looking, functional, lovely slide mechanism Disadvantages: Customisation is limited, settings can be fiddly, no dictionary for predictive texts
I got this phone as a replacement for a SonyEricssonK310i on which the joystick had failed, and overall I have to say I'm fairly impressed.
It's a very simple model with few bells and whistles that exists mainly to do its primary jobs of calling and texting (except for standard organiser, alarm, voice memo and currency convertor features).
Calling is no problem, with the slide mechanism a joy to use as a method of answering incoming calls saving you from any fumbling with soft keys. The speaker is nice and clear, although you will almost certainly have to turn up the initial ringtone sound in order to hear it from your pocket over any normal background buzz. Dual band it is of course, so you can't take this to America - something it's always worth bearing in mind.
Texting is fine, with lots of lines of text being displayed ...
Advantages: None. Disadvantages: Horrible exterior, tiny screen, nasty menu system.
had that will do exactly the same job for you and be ten times easier to use. I would recommend any of those instead. Alternatively, read my review of the SonyEricssonK310i, same price, same functions, if not more! And runs a lot better, even if you are used to the operation of Nokia's and have never used a SonyEricsson in your life!
Enjoy your phone......but not this Nokia No-Go.
Any questions, please send me a message!!! ...

Keep in touch with calls, text and picture messaging and standard push email. See pictures of friends and family onscreen when they call. The K310i keeps the distance short. The first press on the camera key activates the camera, the second press takes the photo. Make any picture you take get a smile by using the face warp feature. Stretch it, squash it, twist it. Warp it. In the calendar, you can type in birthdays, anniversaries and meetings, and set reminders for when something is due. The K310i can play real music ringtones in MP3/AAC format.
