I had the Panasonic gd67 for a while and it was no longer what I wanted as it did lack mms, full colour screen so I decided to buy a upgrade. I went to my local o2 store and had decided I wanted the Sony Ericsson T630 which was on sale for £130 but when I went to the sales assistant I was informed it was no longer in stock and showed me the Sony Ericsson K500i and told me this was the latest model as it only arrived on the day before I brought it, the original price was £150 but they sold it me for the price of the other Sony Ericsson so I decided to go ahead and buy it. The only thing I was really disappointed at was the lack of Bluetooth connectivity but I got over it.
IN THE BOX ==========
When I got the box home I ripped of the security seal and inside on top of the box was the instruction manuals and other leaflets, when you move them there is a cardboard shelf with a picture of the back of the phone which looks good, under that there are the contents of the box. There should be:-
1X Sony Ericsson K500i Mobile handset 1X Official Sony Ericsson Battery 1X Official Sony Ericsson Charger 1X Printed manual
SETTING UP ==========
The main problem I had when I went to put the phone together was trying to take off the back cover, it did not explain in the manual how to remove it but I didn’t want to force it off as I didn’t want to damage it but I was doing the right thing, you just use your nail and lift it from the bottom. Insert the sim card and insert the battery, clip the back cover back on and you ready to put it on charge. When you plug the charger in for the first time it may take up to 30 minutes before the battery indicator appears on the screen, this is because the battery is completely empty. You will need to let it charge for a good 12 hours for the first time to make sure you get the best performance out the battery.
USING ======
When you turn the Handset on for the first time you get greeted with a menu that asks you to select the language, when this is done you will have the option of going through a 3 step setup wizard where you set the time, set the date and copy over the numbers from the sim to the phone, this is up to you if you want to do it. Now you are set to make and receive calls.
FEATURES =========
This phone offer allot of features including a VGA camera which is good but not the best quality, Video recording facility which is really clear, and a mp3 player so you have music on the go and voice recorder where you can record a phone call, and allot more.
CAMERA ========
you may be thinking a camera is just taking pictures, not with this phone, with this phone you can add frames to the pictures so you make you best mate into a chimp or a baby or a super hero depending on which frame you use, you can add effects to the pictures like black and white, negative etc and you can then send the pictures via MMS (multimedia message) or E-Mail
VIDEO recorder =============
This feature is really fun you can record video clips for how ever long you want and depending on the size you can send them to other compatible mobiles phones via MMS or Email, you can also add effects to video clips.
MEDIA PLAYER =============
This phone has a built in media player so you can play back MP3 music or watch video clips in MP4 or 3GP format on the large 65K colour screen, with the media player you can also stream videos from the mobile internet.
VOICE RECORDING ================= This feature is really useful you can record a phone call and play it back later if you need it for any reason.
CODE MEMO ===========
This phone has a secret memo this is basically a secure memory which can only be accessed after entering a 4 button pin, this is code if you hide credit card details etc and it would be safe.
3D GAMES =========
This phone Boasts 3D graphics, this phone has got 3 pre loaded games and the best of is Super real Tennis this is like a really good virtua tennis type game and is also made buy Sega, it also has a fighting game and a 3D darts game.
this phone has 12MB but I think it should have had more because it has a mp3 player and this is only enough memory for about 2,3 songs but I have found a way to add more by using software to reduce the quality and the size.
EMAIL =====
Another good feature in this phone is the built in email function once setup you can send and receive emails to any pc or a compatable mobile phone There is a lot more but I am having a hard time remembering them Lol, I will list more when I remember.
CONNECTIVITY
This phone lets you send pictures, videos, mp3s, ring tones etc via intra red, or data cable, I was a little disappointed that it did not have Bluetooth.
That’s about it, if you have any questions just ask.
Advantages: Brilliant sounding ring tones, light weight, looks good Disadvantages: small buttons and picture quality is a bit poor
...box is the instruction manual, sony ericssons guide to fun and downloads(with a free splinter cell download when you register on the sony ericsson website), information on bolt ons, a trouble-shooters guide and a service and support booklet. You also get the charger. Also once you register the phone with the network you get an extra £3 of credit after 30 days and the wap facility is free for 30 days. I’m not sure if this applies to every network ... ...the phone for 4 hours it was time to get stuck in! First impressions …WOW….the best phone I’ve had to date. The quality of the picture and graphics are amazing, to me it’s like a mini television. The layout of it is really simple to follow as well and includes a start up wizard to help guide you through. The good thing as well is the help is always stored on the phone so if you ever forget you can always go back and check. The layout reminds me of ...

Advantages: Quality, camera, brand, price, functionality Disadvantages: Neither bluetooth nor radio and appalling MP3 player capacity
...had been very impressed by Sony Ericsson in the past and found them better Nokias in the build quality, software, and style were all far superior. The K500i is also very cheap at a similar price to competitors less well-known and Sony Ericsson. I believe you can pick one up for around £80 on pay-as-you-go or from free on even the cheapest contracts.
---Features---
The biggest advancements between the T610 and the K500 is that the camera quality ... ...good quality as with all Sony Ericsson phones with a good degree of crispness and a high number of colours. The screen is also very large, which is useful when you taking pictures or reading text messages or e-mails.
The very has all the features you expect a modern phone including e-mail, multimedia messaging and GPRS Internet access.
I find that the predictive text was better than most manufacturers’, because it incorporates your own words and ...

Advantages: Good Looking and Good Sound Quality Disadvantages: Missing Bluetooth and Needs a Bigger Memory
When I first came across this phone in the display of a shop window, I thought to myself that looks like a very nice and compact mobile phone. So I went in and checked it out and was assured it was top of the range by the shop assistant. The price was well within my range and I thought £85 was an amazing deal for a phone which appeared to have many great features. As I used it more it became apparent that it wasn't as good as it came across.
The ... ...it came to the picture quality, it was brilliant and took a very clear photo. Also when recording using the video function, it gave a great quality video. I found that when taking pictures the screen was also very helpful as I could see a wide area as the screen was a great size. It had other features such as e-mail, GPRS and infrared. I found the Infrared very inefficient as most people had Bluetooth. Also it could be said that when sending files ...

Advantages: easy to use, plus has camera Disadvantages: not many added functions
I've had my k500i for just under a year now, I got it as a replacement for a broken seimens S55. I had read the stats for the k700i and bought the k500i by mistake, basically missing out on bluetooth. Other than the lack of bluetooth though it's a nice little phone, it has a reasonable camera and can send pictures and take videos (though you can't send the videos and it definitely won't allow video calls). It came with a load of pretty good games, ... ...that these are as standard. The battery life is pretty impressive for this type of phone, I've seen it last 3 days without calls, I don't make many calls (I text most of the time thanks to a pre-pay O2 genie sim that gives me 300 free texts a month) so not sure about length of battery life when calling a lot. I do remember from experience in the past though that manufacturers stats for call time battery life are based on optimum signal and the battery ...

Sony Ericsoon K500i revealed
In November 2004, I bought my SonyEricssonK500i for £130.
Design
With its silver cover, the body of K500i looks like it?s covered with heavy load of metal so it is really surprising that it?s very light and just weighs 80 grams. Its shape makes it look like no other and that made me attracted to it instantly. The overall design from front, back to sides instantly made me long to own it. The uniqueness of the mobile phone is simply eye-catching.
Upon turning it on for a test, I was so impressed with the clarity of its screen display. The K500i has 128 by 160 pixel TFT screen which is capable of displaying up to 65,000 colours. It provides excellent image. The animated icons are really fun to view especially the moving wallpapers.
Cover
The cover of K500i looks like silver metal but it ...

Advantages: good user friendly software and good looks Disadvantages: very expensive, not very good software.
O.K phone, quit expensive. Very good sleek look, not very fat. easy to use. loads of good features. The mp3 player is very easy to use and very loud. And the preloaded games are really fun to play with good graphics. there is even a step counter! Battery lasts for a long time. Reception quality is o.k but not the best. The only problem for me is that it does not have 3G so I cant video call or have fast internet. The 2 mega-pixel camera is not as bright as the samsung E900 2 mega-pixel camera. I think for the price it sells at it is not the greatest phone and you can get a much better phone for the same price such as the sonyericsson s500 or the k810i. ...
Advantages: Camera (with flash), Bluetooth, 'walkman fuctions', expandable memory. Disadvantages: Slightly low battery life at times
I have had my W800i for about 6 months now, and have not been let down yet !!!
I upgraded from a sonyericssonK500i, so I didn't have any difficulty using this phone at all, as it has a crystal clear display and decent sized buttons. The phone itself is stunning to look with its unique colouring and is clearly noticeable as a sonyericsson phone. The most impressive features of this phone for me are the camera and the MP3 (walkman) functions.
The camera is 2.0 megapixels and has a flash too and also has video capture aswell. The quality of the pictures is amazing for a phone's camera and the photos ae easily transferable to your computer via the lead included. I tend to use the camera alot for taking pictures for band reviews that are used on my website, so the quality has to be o.k
