I had the Panasonic gd67 for a while and it was no longer what I wanted as it did lack mms, full colour screen so I decided to buy a upgrade. I went to my local o2 store and had decided I wanted the Sony Ericsson T630 which was on sale for £130 but when I went to the sales assistant I was informed it was no longer in stock and showed me the Sony Ericsson K500i and told me this was the latest model as it only arrived on the day before I brought it, the original price was £150 but they sold it me for the price of the other Sony Ericsson so I decided to go ahead and buy it. The only thing I was really disappointed at was the lack of Bluetooth connectivity but I got over it.
IN THE BOX ==========
When I got the box home I ripped of the security seal and inside on top of the
box was the instruction manuals and other leaflets, when you move them there is a cardboard shelf with a picture of the back of the phone which looks good, under that there are the contents of the box. There should be:-
1X Sony Ericsson K500i Mobile handset 1X Official Sony Ericsson Battery 1X Official Sony Ericsson Charger 1X Printed manual
SETTING UP ==========
The main problem I had when I went to put the phone together was trying to take off the back cover, it did not explain in the manual how to remove it but I didn’t want to force it off as I didn’t want to damage it but I was doing the right thing, you just use your nail and lift it from the bottom. Insert the sim card and insert the battery, clip the back cover back on and you ready to put it on charge. When you plug the charger in for the first time it may take up to 30 minutes before the battery indicator appears on the screen, this is because the battery is completely empty. You will need to let it charge for a good 12 hours for the first time to make sure you get the best performance out the battery.
USING ======
When you turn the Handset on for the first time you get greeted with a menu that asks you to select the language, when this is done you will have the option of going through a 3 step setup wizard where you set the time, set the date and copy over the numbers from the sim to the phone, this is up to you if you want to do it. Now you are set to make and receive calls.
FEATURES =========
This phone offer allot of features including a VGA camera which is good but not the best quality, Video recording facility which is really clear, and a mp3 player so you have music on the go and voice recorder where you can record a phone call, and allot more.
CAMERA ========
you may be thinking a camera is just taking pictures, not with this phone, with this phone you can add frames to the pictures so you make you best mate into a chimp or a baby or a super hero depending on which frame you use, you can add effects to the pictures like black and white, negative etc and you can then send the pictures via MMS (multimedia message) or E-Mail
VIDEO recorder =============
This feature is really fun you can record video clips for how ever long you want and depending on the size you can send them to other compatible mobiles phones via MMS or Email, you can also add effects to video clips.
MEDIA PLAYER =============
This phone has a built in media player so you can play back MP3 music or watch video clips in MP4 or 3GP format on the large 65K colour screen, with the media player you can also stream videos from the mobile internet.
VOICE RECORDING ================= This feature is really useful you can record a phone call and play it back later if you need it for any reason.
CODE MEMO ===========
This phone has a secret memo this is basically a secure memory which can only be accessed after entering a 4 button pin, this is code if you hide credit card details etc and it would be safe.
3D GAMES =========
This phone Boasts 3D graphics, this phone has got 3 pre loaded games and the best of is Super real Tennis this is like a really good virtua tennis type game and is also made buy Sega, it also has a fighting game and a 3D darts game.
this phone has 12MB but I think it should have had more because it has a mp3 player and this is only enough memory for about 2,3 songs but I have found a way to add more by using software to reduce the quality and the size.
EMAIL =====
Another good feature in this phone is the built in email function once setup you can send and receive emails to any pc or a compatable mobile phone There is a lot more but I am having a hard time remembering them Lol, I will list more when I remember.
CONNECTIVITY
This phone lets you send pictures, videos, mp3s, ring tones etc via intra red, or data cable, I was a little disappointed that it did not have Bluetooth.
That’s about it, if you have any questions just ask.

myself and hubby have this phone and we have both had numerous replacements due to faults!Hubby's analogue stick always messes up and my charger port never works!We are both in the process of getting upgrades now!Good review though...we are obviously just unlucky.....see my kettle review..lol
Advantages: This phone has great quality pictures and quite a good video quality for its price Disadvantages: The joystick may take a while to get used to, and I have yet to find a way to transfer data from the phone to a computer
