K530i truly a phone with good features and carries a great value for money. I own this phone and i must admit that it has a good range of features for such price. Stereo sound speakers, Good BASS effect headphones, Very good 2.0 MP camera, robust body and good look, Very good battery life(Two days approx.) and 3G enabled, make this phone a good choice.
This phone has better sound quality than Nokia 5310 XpressMusic. My 5310 battery cover borke when it fell down from my dining table. But this phone is very strongly built. No physical damage till date ( even dropped from bike on road , only very minor scratch, no breakage at all :-) )
Further this is a 3G enabled phone which lacks in 5310. Also unofficially this phone's firmware can be upgraded to K660i's to make this phone operate like 660i. Well my 5310 can't be upgraded as there is no firmware available for this phone. Nokia stopped it i suppose.
Constant updates and support from Sony Ericsson. BASS effect is very good and headphone clarity is very good. 5310 sound clarity messes up when equalizer is set and at full volume.
Well JAVA applications are well supported than 5310. For instance Opera JAVA edition installed with ease while it had troubles with my 5310.
The Firmware of K530i is strongly built while 5310 hangs for me when listening to music and messaging at same time 8/10 times.
Battery life of 5310 is really crap. Life time is only 30-40 minutes when hearing to songs thru. speakers after fully charging the phone. But after full charge, K530i music playback lasted for nearly 4.5 hours with still two bars of battery left.
Also voice clarity in K530i is better than that of 5310 XpressMusic.
Though 5310 XpressMusic has dedicated music keys which initially attracted me, it is flimsy and 5310 performace is poor when compared with K530i.
Though K530i has no dedicated keys, one can very easily navigate the phone thru. well assigned shortcuts and keypad is pleasurable to message and to use. But this not the case with my 5310, already changed the keypad twice within 1 year.
Though there is no front camera and no flash, camera quality is far better even at night when night mode is activated but 5310 is a real loser in this area from my opinion.

Thus in my opinion only in very few areas 5310 XpressMusic wins the competition because of its "Black & Red" design and its Sleakness. But K530i is a definite winner in terms of reliability and performance.
Though only it supports Memory Stick upto 2GB, its worth it for that cheap price.( USD 167.0 approx. ) Also there is no camera protection lid but camera surface is sturdy.
We also has the option to take 6 simultaneous photos (bursts of photos) clicked at regular intervals thru. inbuilt timer. This is used to capture fast moving objects like water drooping from a pipe, running cheetah :-) and it really is a good option and photo quality is also good. K530i clearly beats 5310 here.
Connectivity thru. Bluetooth v2.0+EDR is great at transfers while 5310 hangs while transferring of files 5/10 times, don't know why, this is my personal experience. Also 5310 Bluetooth data transfer rate is poor in my opinion.
This is solely a review from my own experience with the product and i mean no harm to anyfrom thru. this review.:-)
Its better to buy this phone for those who opt for phones less than USD 175.
Thanx in advance. Love to have your feedback comments/reviews for this review.

Very thorough, honest review. It was good to get a comparison of the 2 phones. ps I believe the K530i can be crossflashed (new firmware) to convert it to a W660i walkman phone
