The Sony Ericsson K550i mobile phone does much more than you'd expect from a conventional ... more
camera phone. In fact, thanks to the company's
Cyber-shot technology, you've got a 2 megapixel
camera that'll outperform many similar handsets.
Slide open the lens cover and the camera will
activate automatically. There's auto-focus to make
sure your subject stays sharp, along with a photo
light that'll brighten your night-time shots. And
if you're into blogging, you can upload images
straight from your handset.   But the Sony
Ericsson K550i can do much more than just take
pictures. It's happy to handle videos and music,
with 64MB of memory and an expansion slot for
storage. The TrackID feature will even identify
tunes that you've not heard before, displaying the
song name and artist within seconds.   There's
also plenty of other connectivity built into the
K550i. An RSS reader lets you view news and
information from web sites and blogs, while a
proper web browser makes it easy for you to enjoy
your favourite internet pages. In addition, you'll
find a sophisticated email program, USB support
and stereo Bluetooth compatibility. The Sony
Ericsson K550i is undoubtedly a clever little
camera phone - and it's much smarter than you
might think.

Superb camera/music/video phone
Review of Sony Ericsson K550i Cyber-shot by sifair

Advantages: Photos, Music, Stylish
Disadvantages: Keypad is small

The Sony Ericsson K550i is one of a number of new phones that Sony Ericsson have just recently released. It is a Cyber-shot phone meaning that it is and an ideal mobile phone for taking pictures with. The Sony Ericsson K550i is an extremely stylish phone and it will look great wherever you take it. Weighing in at just 85 grams the phone is very light and it won't weigh you down or be a burden to carry round all day. The Mobile has a nice feel to ...
...one looked better. The Sony Ericsson comes with a really nice 262k TFT colour screen which has a nice resolution which is great for viewing the photos you will take using this phone. The phone comes with some decent animated background wallpapers but you can download new ones if you don't like them. I'm sure you won't bother as the pre loaded wallpapers are fine. As well as being able to use wallpapers as backgrounds you can use your own photos ... Read review

My lil Buddy K550i
Review of Sony Ericsson K550i Cyber-shot by welshgal17

Advantages: Small, lightweight, large screen, memory stick capacity
Disadvantages: small buttons

Another year, another phone. This time, fed up of buying I decided to go on contract, and after looking through the selection on the Virgin website decided on this little beauty which was free on my 12 month contract. Look & Feel ---------------- The first thing that attracted me to this phone was its cute little looks. Black casing with a large screen and tiny little silver buttons. The blue backlight caught my eye too. Its small compact size ...
...bulge when carrying it about in your pocket and it also means I can hide it well in work! There are shortcut buttons around most of the phone, and by a press you can be listening to your favourite songs or being a budding photographer. The sliding lens cover at the back is a great idea to protect the camera and also doubles as a short cut to launch the camera. Range of features -------------------------- Camera Being called a 'cybershot' phone ... Read review

Thumbs up!
Review of Sony Ericsson K550i Cyber-shot by optimaboy

Advantages: 2 megapixel camera, ease of use
Disadvantages: Small buttons, short battery life.

...I used to own a Sony Ericsson a few years ago, but switched to a Samsung due to its sleek looks, but I am very happy to return, as the Sony is so much easier to use. The first thing you notice about the phone when picking it up is its light weight and large screen, perfect for taking photo with the 2 megapixel camera. Mine came in black with silver buttons and looks great, albeit not as sleek at the some of the slide-down phones lke the Samsung ...
...be augmented by inserting a sony memory card. Though pricey, this is clever way of storing your music and images and allows you to free up the rest of your phone's memory. Other extra features that impressed me were some of the fun auxiliery applications included. These include the Track ID software, that can identify music that is playing around you; the Photo DJ, Video DJ and Music DJ that let you play around and alter the music, image or video ... Stunning phone for the price...
Review of Sony Ericsson K550i Cyber-shot by Rich444

Advantages: Brilliant design, Great camera and feature packed, Inexpensive
Disadvantages: Poor indoor shots, high-end phones may be better

I bought the phone as a replacement for my tired looking Nokia 6230i. The phone cost only £79.99 from Carphone Warehouse (that was with trade in and the free £10 credit). Anyway here are the main features: Design The design for this phone is very eyecatching, and makes it look alot more expensive than it really is. The phone is only 14.5mm thick so will go unoticable in jeans pockets, yet still have enough depth to fit well in oyur palm. Thin, ...
...these often frighten potential customers away (fearing for their fingers safety), they are really very comfortable and easy to use. On the back of the phone is an active lens cover (camera turns on when opened), this is a good feature as it protects the camera however I fear that in a years time it may be quite loose. Features: The phone features all the usual things found on phones today Messaging, MP3 Player, Radio, Games etc. Some other good ... Read review

Quick review of Sony Ericsson K550i
Review of Sony Ericsson K550i Cyber-shot by drskb

This is an excellent phone. plus points are slim size, good screen, strong battery life, short response time. Camera is good and useful but not outstanding. cons are keypad which needs time to get used to, poor picture quality in night/indoors and poor screen visibility in sunlight. But considering the cost, this is a good value for money.much better than many of nokia smartphones around. considering that joystick in k750 ended up in problems here its done away with and so its expected to last longer.
