Sony Ericsson k800i Mobile Phone (Special Edition)

I have had this phone for about six months now and it really in my opinion is a great phone to have. However my friend also has this phone but not the special edition version and I personally feel that she has got the better phone.

Now you would think that a special edition phone would be far superior to the bog standard version. This is not the case however, the only difference that we have found between our phones is the fact that mine is a flashy silver colour and hers is a more slicker black colour. The bad side however to owing the silver edition of this phone is that is has a significant amount of chips and wearing to the edges where as hers looks as good as the day she bought it! We both shove our phones in our bags and let them bounce around but mine really does look worse for the wear. I wish I had got the bog standard one now!

However this phone has a load of great features and I still and pleased with it and proud to say I own it. The 3.2 mega pixel flash integrated camera was what initially attracted me to buying this particular phone. I have never owned a Sony Ericsson before but I am surprisingly pleased with the performance this unit is giving me.

The battery power is very good and there is also a button at the side of the phone which will let you know what percentage of phone battery life you have left, so even when the bar is displaying red you know that you still have around 15% of battery life which is good and prevents over charging.

The size of the phone is rather large compared to a lot of other phones that are out on the market these days but the weight is surprisingly manageable. I do like a larger phone however as I like to be able to find it easy in my Mary Poppins style handbag. The memory capability for photos and music is not very good at all but the fact you can buy a memory card to extend this memory is really fine and now I have purchased this said memory card I can store loads of pictures and sound tracks onto the phone making it a real personal data system.

It can hold so many phone number and contact cards, which gives you the ability to store addresses, numbers, emails, photos and so much more to just one name. The range of options available from the main menu is pretty good and there are so many options available. The amount of folders and subfolders held within the phone is great and it did take me a good while to navigate round the phone and familiarise myself with all the different options.

The photos look really clear and having the flash really does help to make this phone feel like a good proper camera as well as a good phone to use. Since having this phone I have yet to use my digital camera as this Sony Ericsson camera Phone offers all I need in the whole process of taking pictures and being able to edit them as I see fit.

The sound from the phones is not as good as some other phones that have since been released on to the market but for the ringtone and the small amount of use I have for it as a personal walkman it really does work well for me. I would say that I find this phone is more for people who are interested in taking a good quality photo out and about rather than interested in a good music capability.
I got this phone on a contract so therefore have not paid the retail price which I think was about £250. I would say however that I think £250 is a fair price for this great working mobile phone and camera.
