Advantages: It's more than just a phone! Disadvantages: Takes a while to get to grips with!
...I suggest you visit the Sony website or scroll down my review***
Back in 1997 my friends started getting pagers, and shortly afterwards mobile phones. I wasn’t having any of it. “How childish!” I used to exclaim as we sat in the pub and they compared ringtones. “I’m never going to get a mobile phone. I hate phones anyway. I don’t see what all the fuss is about!”
I do hate phones, speaking on them in particular. I always have, it’s something I’ve ... ...I decided to get a Sony Ericsson K700i – for once I had a flashy phone – camera, MP3 player (so I could have a real song ringtone!) I had so much fun taking little videos of my office, and random videos of the train station – the excitement!
***Now – why did I get the P990i?***
Anyway, it’s now 2007, and it’s time to move on. I looked on the Orange website, and decided that I wanted a Sony Ericsson P990i (I had seen it in a shop when it first came ...

Advantages: Good all round business phone Disadvantages: software problems
...will come in a standard Sony box.
The phone is primarily a business phone and it supports PDF files, and has Excel and word editors built in. Communications options are very good, with Wi-Fi, bluetooth, infrared, USB2.0, GPRS and 3G connectivity, but the new high speed 3.5G network is not supported. This is not too much of an issue for now, but in a few months, the networks should all support it with download speeds of upto 1.8meg. So it is best ... ...thinking it is the best Sony Ericsson phone, which isn't quite correct.
It is the flagship smartphone, but it is for business. You will not get the best camera, for that you need the K800i. For music, there are a range of options, i would personally choose the W950, but it has no camera. It does share the touchscreen of the P990i though.
The phone suffers from UIQ3.0 for the touchscreen. It just tries to do too much and does not make the best use ...

Advantages: Design, features Disadvantages: Stability,
...up logo to the original Sony Ericsson boot screen.
I was very disappointed at how unstable the phone was. It was very rare for me to go 1-2 days without experiencing a crash and reboot of my phone. This would normally be due to lack of memory, and only normally occured when I was using programs on the phone such as the camera, web browser, etc.
The camera was good, and produced fairly good video quality as well. Being a Symbian phone this opened ... ...becomes worse when there is a lot of unrequired software already installed.
Overall I would recommend this phone. I like the styling, even if it is rather quite large, it does have good features, and providing you install the latest firmware from Sony Ericsson, it's actually fairly stable. ...

Advantages: Does lots of stuff, has wifi, loads of 3rd party applications to improve functionality Disadvantages: Very pricey, not a huge improvement on the 910i, annoyingly small keyboard, clunky and slow software
I eagerly awaited the release of this phone on Orange (my existing network with the P910i) from the time it was first announced, and suprise suprise the release date was pushed back, and back, and back!
I eventually got my hands on the phone about 9 months after they said it would be released to Orange, disappointingly some 4 months after Vodafone and O2 released it on their networks.
Overall, I have had to replace the phone three times (yay for ... ...these phones) - once because the speaker completely stopped working - microphone worked so people could hear what i was saying, but I couldn\'t hear anything or hear it ring.
The second time I had it replaced it randomly started doing strange things, I never got an alert that i had voicemail, messaging wouldn\'t work, everything crashed and hung, and it generally really got on my nerves.
The third time, it got lost/stolen at hockey training so ...

Advantages: camera,3g and wifi, battery life Disadvantages: Size, shape style
In my opinion the sony ericsson p990 is one of sonys first next generation phones although the size of the phone still lacks the persona of a samsung or motorola the unctions of the phone make up for that by having video calling, wifi, bluetooth, 2 mega pixel camera. To start withthe addiction of wifi it means that you can use wirless internet to get high speed access to it through your phone which is helpfull when your on the go. The 2 mega pixel ... ...it is meant to be it could of been at least a 3 mega pixel but becasue of the other features i am willing to let that go. Also the internal memory of the phone is 128mb and it also comes with memory depending on where you by the phone this can be 64mb to 256mb. The battery life is amazing for this phone even with allth gadgets it still last a good 4 and a half days with average use age with i found amazing becasue even with my old k750i it only lasted ...
