Hey there! If you are reading this review then you are thinking of buying a T610 for yourself or others. Well if you are going in for a camera phone, 65000 color screen, good build and moderate memory then this is the best buy in the whole of Sony Erricson Cellular GSM phones.
-Camera- The SE T610 has a integrated camera with the power of capturing an intimate moment forever at 288x352 pixels, the camera hole is located on the back of the cellular phone with a protective covering which reflects the disturbing light that can spoil the image which is displayed on the screen with white lines and blurrs. The camera is activated by a single button click located on the keypad which I have discussed later on.
-Screen- We should agree that screen comes at a very high priority in a cellular phone specially if its a color one with a camera!!! Yes we are paying quite a lot so we should get its worth! So Sony Erricson has decided to put a wonderfully bright, powerful, clear screen into its T610! It supports a 65,000 colors (65 K) and 128 x 160 pixels has such clarity that any picture taken even when the phone is not steady or moving the picture is very clear. It is a LCD - TFT matrix
screen based like the one you see on Laptop computers. The screen is protected by a outer plastic covering like other phones but it doesn't get scratched so easily nor damaged the same.
-Memory- The memory is not much just 2MB for a camera phone!!! It has no MMC (Memory Card Support) from which you can add more memory, so your stuck with just a 2 MB camera phone! If they are going to release a improved version of T610 I am sure they are going to put more memory at least or MMC slots. This is a very negative point whereas the new Nokia 6600 (see my review : ) has 6MB reserved for normal phone functions such as reminder notes, calender notes etc. and 32MB for songs, videos and ringtones and more it has MMC slots for maximum 256 MB! Therefore if you are going to use it on a regular basis and if you are going to take lots of pictures in one go then this phone is not the one for you! You can keep up-loading the pics to your computer and taking new ones!
-Connectivity Options- This phone is loaded with connectivity capabilities like BlueTooth, Serial, InfraRed, HandsFree. If you are a regular person who sends people MultiMedia Messages MMS thru the expensive services provided by your serivce provider then you can simply tell the phone to send it by BlueTooth/InfraRed to another phone, but the other person has to be near to share it. If you are going to connect your T610 to the computer for the latest software, games, ringtones and information then it can be done with the help of InfraRed if you have a port or otherwise the serial cable and BlueTooth is still available for transfer also but if you are aiming for BlueTooth then beware the cost of buying the BT port is very expensive!
-Body Build- The phone supports a very spunky look by its dual black and white (other color combos are available) covers. You can replace the covers with other covers which are available in a SE shop easily. The 610 has a sturdy design and the side view of the phone is truly mesmerizing with its side panels something similar to Nokia 2100 but more metallic and better. The phone is not heavy after you get used to 95 grams.
-Battery- The Battery is very good a Li-Po 750 mAh from which you can chat with friends upto 14 hours non stop from full battery!!! If you are not so regular on your phone it will last till, called the StandBy Time : 315 hours, approx 13 days! So if you are going out and forgot your phone don't worry it will last till 13 straight days now isn't that long enough.
-Other Features- This phone has Voice Memo, Calculators, Calender, Remind Note, Alarm, Time ScreenSaver, Wallpapers, Polyphonic Ringtones (32 note polyphony) with drums, bass, piano, tuba, guitar, electric guitar and other sounds which can be played simulatenously played on 32 channels to form a ringtone. It has a Ringtone Composer which will bring out the creative side in you!!! You can Voice Dial with its in-built function.
-CLOP- When your beloved is calling you on your cellular you can have her picture displayed instead of the boring Juliet Calling or Sheila Calling with the color picture, of course you have to take her picture first!!! :-)
-SMS/MMS/EMS Support- Yes this phone supports all the above mentioned and if you are a fan of sending your family and friends MMS/EMS then this phone really goes a long way to satisfy you!! It has the capability to send MMS/EMS messages with sounds, ringtones, Text Messages, MultiMedia pictures and more by its powerful packed POP3 mail client or MMS Message Sender to e-mail/phone.
-Games- The phone has 3-4 games Deep Abyss, Five Stones, Minigolf and more which can be downloaded from your GPRS/WAP connection but there is not much scope for downloading heavy games which take up much space because of the limited 2MB memory. But the interactive vibration system which gives you little jolts from the powerful motor inside the phone and the bright flashing lights make the games much more real than of the Nokia regular games.
-Menu- The phone menu is like your Control Panel on the Computer (PC's) It gives you multiple options without having to scroll down big icons like in most Nokia phones. The phone is enhanced with a very easy to handle JoyStick which helps you to move around in the Menu Icons. With easy and small icons you save more time in locating your destination even if its a few clicks on the go. The menu is well built, but otherwise for newbies and begginers it may be a problem as the icons are small and text is not displayed below to help the person.
-KeyPad- The keys in the KeyPad of the Sony Erricson T610 are well spaced and you face no confusion when you are writing a message or simply when you are dialing a phone number. The buttons have a good feel to them and don't wear off easily. If you are a gamer then this phone maybe a little unresponsive and difficult to play because the distance between the keys inhibits your rapid moving from one to the other. If you are regularly playing games on the phone the keypad may get spoilt and you will soon have to replace it with a new one from a Sony Erricson shop. So press the keys with ease and gentleness!

Review of Sony Ericsson T610
Advantages: Brilliant phone customisation, Good size screen with 65K colours (STN screen technology aside), Navigation system, Downloadable Games/Apps, Range of connectivity options Disadvantages: Casing attracts fingerprints and smudges, Hard to view in sunny outdoor conditions, 2MB memory maybe too little, Back and Cancel buttons maybe confusing, Quick Access to WAP services can be costly if accidently pressed.
