The buttons themselves are solid ... ...one you want, and the button located on the side makes connection to the internet an instant action. One note of caution however; approximately 10 weeks after purchasing the v600i, the joystick started to mess up. It would sometimes not respond at all, or if it did, think I was either pressing a different direction or pressing it in to select something. A frustrating problem, and one I'm not sure whether it was my fault or not.

The buttons themselves are solid and a good size so it's easy to get the one you want, and the button located on the side makes connection to the internet an instant action. One note of caution however; approximately 10 weeks after purchasing the v600i, the joystick started to mess up. It would sometimes not respond at all, or if it did, think I was either pressing a different direction or pressing it in to select something. A frustrating problem, and one I'm not sure whether it was my fault or not.
The inbuilt camera, automatically activated when the lens cover is slid to open, is decent enough, but to be able to zoom you have to first change to a smaller picture size which can be tiresome and awkward, especially should you be in a hurry. The quality of the picture can be hit an miss; I have taken some pictures that look like they hae been taken on a normal digital camera, while others look like they have been taken via a low budget webcam. The video is a decent quality when transferred to the computer, although it is quite small (and it looks deceptively bad on the phone). Also, the phone is supposed to be turned on its side when using the camera, with the volume buttons acting as zoom and the camera button in a position to replicate a real camera. Not necessary, although a nice novelty.
Talking of data transfer, the software used to send files to and from your computer is simple and easy to use, and quick as well. Unfortunately the relatively small memory means that you won't be using your phone as an MP3 player anytime soon, although the hands free set acts as a radio antenna, meaning your musical fix can be solved (although the reception can be poor at times).
If you are looking for a phone with a camera and the internet, that is not overly expensive, you wouldn't go too far wrong with a v600i. If your budget goes higher, however, I would recommend considering something of a slightly higher quality.

I read many reviews before getting this phone and most of them were good. The odd couple complained about the sound, I have never had this problem.

...take it back. Lucky for Sony ericsson, I didn't buy this phone for it TV playback. Again though, the screen and fluid display rescues the 3G TV option.
Reception:
If I were a phone designer I would rate reception quality fairly high on a list of priorities for a PHONE. Sony ericsson, don't. Phones I had 2 or 3 years ago, had similar or better reception quality. Calls are, when reception permits clear and audible, the tiny speaker for your ear means ... ...to make a call, no one will be able to hear the other persons side of the conversation, as the 'pinprick' guides the sound into your ear only. Games:
Games on this phone are fast, responsive and the graphics are intensified by the great display.
Battery life:
I can only assume that the battery I was given with this phone was a dud, judging by the good reviews by other users. Mine lasts maybe 2 days with little use.

...having seen or used a Sony Ericsson phone for many years I was not quite sure what to expect with this one. My last Sony Ericsson was well old and had very few features, not even a colour screen!
First impressions of the v600i were good, I took it out of the box, it looked the part, shiny, modern and sleek. It has all the usual features and the menus are nicely presented.
I was concerned that the camera is only 1.3 mega pixel but the picture quality ... ...lens cover on the back of the phone. I found that if I was not careful I would catch the cover when carrying the phone or putting it in my pocket or bag and this makes the camers come on and wastes the battery. The battery, however, does have quite a good life on it for a 3g phone.
The key pad buttons can be small and fiddly to start off with, at least that is what i thought but I do have chunky fingers, but like anything new, you get used to it ...

...currently waiting on help from Sony Ericsson which has taken a while (2 months at the last count). I think that the Camera, Video and MP3 player are great with good clarity and options to edit the pictures but you can only have a limited amount of memory and no memory card with this model so if you are looking for an MP3 player mobile I would get another model and the same goes for pictures and video. ...

I have always used SonyEricsson phones and the W850i is good value for money and is the best phone I have had since my V600i .
Overall It is a great phone with a large range of features and is relatively easy to use .
The best features being the walkman with the 1GB memory stick as standard. The Camera also takes good quality pictures and I found it relatively easy to transfer from the phone to my computer with the cable and program included with the phone.
The main downside is the phone turns itself off when using the Internet and certain functions which happens more often than I would expect.
Finally one fun part of the phone was the face warp application which kept me amused for a few hours. ...

I've owned a Nokia 8310 for nearly a year now and have found it to be one of the most reliable and dependable phones i've ever had.
I've been through my fair share of phones, starting from the old nokia 5110, to the sony z5, motorola v50, nokia 3310, sonyericsson t68i and the new motorola v600, which i sold. But although you might think some of the other phones i mentioned are better because they may take pictures, or can make funny noises with their polyphonic ring tones, the Nokia 8310 soley as a phone rates highly.
Firstly the size and weight of the phone make it desirable, and at the same time not being too small you cant see the buttons. Also you can change the covers of the phone to suit your taste.
The features are excellent, you have everything you expect from a nokia, including a built in FM radio, wap browser ...

Those of you that have looked at my reviews before will know that I like to review my mobiles. Well this time I thought I'd wait and see what one's like after a year - particularly as a lot of the mobile networks are now moving towards 18 month contracts - are the phones really up to it.
