The Sony Erricson W300i, Let me start by saying this, if your a heavy texter stop redaing now this phone IS NOT FOR YOU. why? the keys are flat and flush onto each other and they are circular and that close together they overlap a little and this can get very frustrating if your texting a lot. BELIEVE ME :-) Ok the major gripe is out of the way. Lets get into the nitty gritty. The camera is Very poor (VGA- not even 1mp) so its not good at all for taking picture or recording video its sort of been thrown into this phone as an after thought. This phone is all about the music, the onboard memory is poor but again its got a memory card slot - they come with 256mb cards but these are soon replace with something a lot better i had a 2gb card in mine. The sound quiity when playing music through the little speaker is good foe a phone, it has a little handle at the top which hold its slight off any surface you place it on. Why? well it keeps the speaker from being muffled and so giving you a lot better quality of music. Yes it does make a difference - even if it does look a little odd. The display screen is ok, maybe i have be spoiled buy using smart phones? The colours are bright enough and clear enough but its not going to take your breath away. Stand by time is amazing, i went for almost 2 weeks without having to charge my W300i once, true i barely used it but hey it lasted and lasted. Call quality and reception, hmmm the recption im going to say is average-poor. my other phones all pick up better signal when im at home (on orange network). There is no major gripe with reception but it never seems to be perfect. Sound quality when having a conversation is ok-ish, The ear piece speaker is very tinny and does not seem to ever be loud enough. but you can hold a conversation clearly enough. The menus are fairly standard to other phones. There are better Walkman phones out there. At best this phone is average. maybe good for a son or daughter who are into there music, and you do not wanna spend too much on a fancy walkman phone. Opps another plus side - its almost indestructable lol i have dropped mine from over 95ft while climbing to find it was fine - small chip in the plastic but thats it! maybe a phone for the clumsy music lover.
