Advantages Good mp3 player, 1.3 mega pixel camera.
Disadvantages Crappy original firmware/software, could do with upgrading. Memory needs to be bigger.

Having bought a job lot of these off ebay I noticed they all share all 1 common fault and that is a software problem. But don't be put off by that it can be soon sorted out by a simple firmware upgrade which is done by using the sony ericsson update service. This phone has a decent mp3 player(expected as it's a walkman phone). It has an internal memory of 256mb so holds about 60 songs. a 1.3 mega pixel camera, and looks very good. You can also get customizable covers. This is an easy phone to use and is a swivel so is really quite compact. This hasn't got an expandable memory so holds a limited ammount of songs, as i mentioned ealier depending on the size of the mp3 file, it holds around 256mb. The battery life is incredible. But as I said before I am a little dissapointed with the main phone firmware/sofware. But it's no reason to turn the phone down because I believe it's an absolute cracker of a phone!

Good on the features, but what’s it actually like to use as a phone? For calls and texts, etc?

What is the "common flaw"? SE's update service is ok, but sometimes the version of firmware that the SEUS provides is not always the latest and greatest where the handset has been OEM'd (eg, an O2 or an Orange "branded" variety). Of course, once out of the initial contract term, I guess the it's fair game for the absolute latest f/w that Sony can give you...
