I bought this phone basicly, because I wanted the Sony W910i, but couldn't afford lol. I picked this up for about 100 quid, (w910i is about 200 quid) and was not expecting much because of the low price. However, having compared it with the W910i, this one does basicly exactly the same, but for half the price. Bargain! I also think that this one actually looks better, although it is perhaps more suited to a female as is not as wide as the w910i, and the buttons are very small even for my little fingers!
I have the phone in Urban Grey..first things first it looks very sleek and slim, and I have had lots of comments on how cool it looks. It has LED lights in the sides which change colour when you change the theme - looks great but probably uses more battery than it's worth, as there is no function to turn it off. The Sim was really difficult to get in, but the problem was solved as realised that it pushes in when you push the battery in.
I mainly use this for texting, calling, camera and the walkman feature. The phone is easy enough to text on, same as any other phone, but i do find that the buttons are really small and its very easy to misspell words if not concentrating. The SMS service supports long SMS text messages which allows the user to type away on a long input message. Texting speed definitely seems quicker than it did on my old Samsung too, which is nice. Calling again is the same as on any other phone, a nice touch is separate menus for missed calls, dialled numbers and recieved calls.
Camera is overall OK, but there's no flash, which i expected from a phone made so recently. This is really annoying when trying to take night photos, other than this picture quality is an average 2MP, does the job but nothing to write home about.
The walkman feature is brilliant - works exactly the same as an ipod and can be easily acessed with a specific walkman button on the front. Only problem with this is it turns the walkman accidently when the phones in my bag but this can be avioded if you remeber to lock the keypad. The headphones provided are good too, and the 512MB memory card is ample - ive got about 50 tracks on mine but will be buying a bigger memory card (about a tenner.) It has an FM radio as well which is nice for when youre on the bus etc.
Overall a brilliant little phone, which is as good looking as it is functional - I would definitely reccomend this to someone looking to purchase a W910i, or any other type of music phone as sony ericsson walkmans really are the best ones I have come across. Only problem is that the battery life is realllllly bad, first couple of times I charged it it lasted about a day or so with me using walkman and camera a few times, which would eb something to consider as it gets really irritating. I've also read reviews that the keys crack, but (touch wood) i've not had any problems with this yet :) Worth every penny!
